Hello,
Last week I received an e-mail from a classmate from the high school from where we graduated. This summer will be our 40th anniversary from high school. I thought it was a very rude e-mail as there's no way that I graduated from high school 40 years ago. That and hearing Echo and the Bunnymen "Bring On The Dancing Horses" inspired this blog. These are the best songs from 1982 to 1986, all genres. These were four years were some of the greatest years in the history of the music.
Here are some of the best CDs from this timeframe, just a sample. 1) Prince "Purple Rain" 2) Michael Jackson "Thriller" 3) Duran Duran "Rio" 4) Styx "Kilroy Was Here" 5) "Flashdance" Soundtrack 6) Huey Lewis and The News "Sports" 7) Billy Idol "Rebel Yell" 8) Alabama "Mountain Music" 9) INXS "Listen Like Thieves" and 10) "Footloose" Soundtrack.
1) Styx "Mr. Roboto":
2) Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson "Pancho and Lefty":
3) Yes "Owner Of A Broken Heart":
4) The Oak Ridge Boys "Bobbie Sue":
Not to be confused with the magical song of the same name by Lady Gaga. 5) The Steve Miller Band "Abracadabra":
These next five songs are so called one hit wonders. 6) Prism "Don't Let Him Know":
7) Modern English "Melt With You":
8) Deborah Allen "Baby I Lied":
9) Jack Wagner "All I Need":
10) Billy Crystal "You Look Marvelous":
11) Men At Work "Be Good Johnny":
12) Bruce Springsteen "Dancing In The Dark":
13) Dio "Holy Diver":
14) Spandau Ballet "True":
