themusicaddict's Greatest Hits of All-Time: Sugarcult Why Was This Band Not Bigger?

Hello,

I have no idea why Sugarcult wasn't a bigger band. They combine rock and pop in such a way that their songs have a very current feel to them. Although their songs have pop elements, Sugarcult also rocks. They have so many good songs that I have no idea why they didn't break out. The only reason I know about them is that I picked up their CD "Lights Out" for only $2 at Graywhale. I took a chance buying the CD as the cover was intriguing and it was so inexpensive. "Lights Out" is their best CD with several great songs, it seemed to promise big things for the band going forward. Sadly that brilliant future hasn't come to pass as of yet. Sadly it looks like it might not now.

I just out and out stole the following paragraph from Rdio in Greg Prato's biography of Sugarcult, here's the link: http://www.rdio.com/artist/Sugarcult/biography/

"The Santa Barbara, CA, alternative rock quartet Sugarcult (singer/guitarist Tim Pagnotta, guitarist Marko DeSantis, bassist Airin Older, and original drummer Ben Davis (who was later replaced by Kenny Livingston) took their name from a moniker that lesbian neighbors who lived next door to the band called themselves. Forming in 1998, the band's first show (a trio at the time) was opening for Superdrag at a local club. It was here that they met DeSantis -- who'd previously played with such bands as the Ataris, Nerf Herder, and Swingin' Utters -- and he soon moved from audience to bandmember.

Sugarcult debuted on Ultimatum in 2001 with Start Static and scored hits with the songs "Stuck in America" and "Bouncing Off the Walls." They jumped on the summer's Warped Tour for what should have been two weeks, but fan response was so positive, the band wound up staying for the entire two months. The DVD Action appeared in 2002; Davis exited the group the following year to be replaced by ex-Lefty drummer Kenny Livingston. Jumping to Fearless Records, the slightly darker Palm Trees and Power Lines followed in 2004 and peaked at number one on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart.

Sugarcult issued the live CD/DVD Back to the Disaster a year later. The guys continued to hone their chops on the road; they earned a spot as openers for Green Day's American Idiot tour, took top billing on the 2005 Take Action Tour, and hit the main stages of festivals like Warped Tour, Japan's Summer Sonic Festival, and the U.K.'s Glastonbury, Reading, and Leeds festivals. Sugarcult's most focused effort to date, Lights Out, appeared in September 2006 on V2." ~ Greg Prato

Sadly 2006's "Lights Out" CD is their last CD and they haven't released any new music since then. According to Wikipedia Sugarcult has been on hiatus since 2009.

themusicaddict's Greatest Songs of Anita Baker

Hello,

Anita Denise Baker was born January 26th, 1958. A belated happy birthday Anita! According to Wikipedia, Baker has won 8 Grammy awards, has 5 platinum albums and 1 gold album to her credit. Much as with the greatest songs of Joan Osborne, most of the songs in this blog come from one CD. For Baker that CD is the fantastic "Rapture". I consider each of the 8 songs from that CD as a Baker greatest song. In my Greatest CDs of All-Time series I wrote about "Rapture" on January 6th, 2014. It seems there's something about January that puts me in an Anita Baker mood. (Thanks to Wikipedia)

Now let's get to the music.

"Watch Your Step":

"You Bring Me Joy":

"Caught Up In The Rapture":

"Been So Long":

"No One In The World":

"Same Ole Love (365 Days A Week)":

themusicaddict's Greatest Songs of Joan Osborne

Hello,

Joan Osborne was born on July 8th, 1962. Osborne is most well known for the song "One of Us", but in no way is that her only good song. "One of Us" comes off the CD "Relish", which is one of the most under appreciated CDs of the last several years. This blog is "Relish" heavy, but I've found plenty of other great songs of hers from other CDs. Besides original songs, Osborne also does a lot of covers. She's always respectful of the original, but she adds her own spin to each cover she does. Almost all of her covers are great, but I'm only going to include a few here. If you want to experience more of her covers, check out her CDs "Breakfast In Bed" and "How Sweet It Is".

Ms. Osborne's latest work is last spring's "Love And Hate". "Thirsty For My Tears" and "Up All Night" are two of the songs on that CD.

This are those songs that I think are the greatest songs of Joan Osborne as determined by my ears.

"Crazy Baby":

"One of Us":

"Right Hand Man":

"St. Teresa": (A slightly different take on the original.)

"Man In The Long Black Coat":

"Spider Web":

"Ladder":

"Pensacola":

"Dracula Moon":

"Lumina":

"Let's Just Get Naked":

"Cathedrals":

"Who Divided":

"Up All Night":

"Thirsty For My Tears":

"I'll Be Around" (I love her voice on this song):

"I've Got To Use My Imagination":

"Breakfast In Bed":

"Spooky":

"Flyaway":

themusicaddict's Reviews "12 Monkeys TV", "Last King of Scotland" and My Super Bowl Pick

Hello,

***** you need to experience this right now!
**** pretty darn good
*** good
** with a lot of work, there might be something there
* avert your eyes and the eyes of your children

Can you believe it's already been 20 years since the release of the "12 Monkeys"(*****) movie? It's crazy how time flies by while one is doing other things. Anyway that's one of my favorite movies ever. An amazing story, a great cast and all directed with the flair of the great Terry Gilliam. Gilliam is one of my favorite directors, directing such amazing movies as "The Fisher King" (*****), the imaginative "Brazil" (***) and the bizarre "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" (***).

Now 20 years later a television show based on that movie has made it's way to your TV. The actors aren't the same caliber of the movie, but Aaron Stanford and Amanda Schull still both do a good job. Not to mention Schull looks amazing in a dress, at the :37 mark, of the "12 Monkeys" trailer:

And why is it that the creepy Zeljko Ivanek seems to be in nearly everything?

Anyway I've only seen the first episode of this show and so far, so good. (***) I do wonder how they'll stretch this two hour movie into several episodes and still maintain high quality. I plan on watching the second episode tonight.

A movie that I tried to watch last night was "Snowpiercer" (**), it was so exciting that I fell asleep halfway through. I'm not quite sure I want to finish watching this movie. Ultimately what I saw of this movie was very disappointing, a movie that would have been much improved with a more thorough editing process. I wasn't real impressed with the casting, very few of the characters were convincing. The story has some potential and it does have some amazing visuals. I had no problems staying awake during the episode of "Castle" (*****) I watched afterwards.

Tonight's planned viewing is the movie "Liberal Arts" and "12 Monkeys" episode 2.

Movies: I also recently watched "The Last King of Scotland" starring James McAvoy's naked butt and Forest Whittaker as Idi Amin. Also playing a major part is Martin Luther King Jr (David Oyelowo). Both the movie (***) and the book (*****) it's based on are good. However Giles Foden's book is much better. It's a book I only read because it was recommended for a book club. And I'm not going to lie, I love the book. I can't believe how much they changed from the book to the movie. If you can only pick one, go with the book.

I also recently watched the latest in the "Purge" series, "Purge Anarchy" (*****). It stars Coretta Scott King (Carmen Ejogo), backup qb Matt Saracen (Zack Gilford) and some other not as famous actors. The Purge is about a 12 hour event in future America where you can commit any crime you want including murder. This is one of those rare instances where the sequel is better than the original. Having the action spread over several locations rather than just mainly one place is the best way forward for this series. A pretty good and clever story and I love the ending. The ending feels both right and possible after the 12 hours of a gluttony of violence that comes from a violent purge.

I also love the political undercurrent about the devaluation of the poor simply because of them simply being poor. And the level of importance of some people simply because they are rich. One of my favorite scenes is when Sgt. Barnes takes the fight to the rich, especially spraying their viewing box with an automatic weapon. Also I love Carmelo also brings the fight to the rich, evening the odds only seems just and right.

Music: There was a third band traveling with Motley Crue and Alice Cooper on the first leg of Motley Crue's alleged farewell tour. That band's name is the Raskins. I quite like their self-title debut CD (****). They remind me of a young Motley Crue. They have some true rock moments, but they also have some very pop metal moments ("On The Radio"). I highly recommend their self-titled debut CD.

Here's a taste, "We Had It All":

Incidentally I do have tickets to see Motley Crue, Alice Cooper and hopefully The Raskins on July 29th in Salt Lake. There will be a review coming following the concert.

Other quick reviews: Dum Dum Girls "Too True" (**) and Brody Dalle's "Diploid Love" (**).  I was looking to shake up my music listening and I took a chance on these two CDs. While neither one of these are terrible CDs, neither is great. Both CDs, especially the Dalle CD, have good ideas. Ultimately that's all they remain. And thankfully neither are as bad as the stink bomb of the movie "Black Hat" (*).

And my Super Bowl pick is Seattle. I predict a fired up Seahawks team, who have righted themselves and have won 9 of their last 10 games, will win by at least 3 touchdowns. This game could turn ugly very quickly, especially with bad karma coming New England's way following Deflategate (0 *).

Other recently viewed/ read/ listened to media:

"Selma" (*****) A great movie that should have received more Oscar nomination love. A great movie and Ava Duvernay's directing was excellent.
Sleeping With Sirens "Feel" (***)
Pierce the Veil "Collide With The Sky" (***)
The Donnas (Greatest Hits Volume 16) (*** 1/2)
Joan Osborne's "Relish" (*****)
Motley Crue's "Theatre of Pain" (****)

Warning: The Bad Boys of (The) Rock and Roll Are Invading Salt Lake City July 29th, 2015

Hello,

Motley Crue is invading Salt Lake City. Hide your daughters, hide yourself and tell Mom it's time to come out and play again. The Crue are on their final farewell tour, no really. They signed a legal contract about it and everything. You know, no one has ever broken a contract. And if anyone were to do it surely it wouldn't be Motley Crue. (That's sarcasm, in case you didn't recognize it.)

Anyway here are the relative details, the deets as the non-cool kids would say. Opening up the concert will be the ageless Alice Cooper. How he and Mick Mars are still upright I have no idea, but you can't be too old to rock and roll. The price of tickets? I have no idea, but let's round down to an arm and a leg. I'm seeing ticket prices from $118 to $1100 on-line. From my quick research they are playing about 20 songs a night and close to two hours.

Mick Mars wasn't real happy about Vince singing over recorded vocals. But what do you expect Vince will be 54 on February 8th, Happy Birthday Vince. The other members of the band are Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars and Tommy Lee.

One more Motley Crue related note: if you haven't read "The Dirt" yet, then you need to read it. The boys got a real author, Neil Strauss, to write about their life of rock and roll and debauchery! It's an incredible book, the section about the death of Neil's kid is particularly moving. Not as good, but still interesting is Nikki Sixx's "Heroin Diaries". It's about his long battle with heroin until he finally conquered it after a very intense battle. I'm not sure why anyone even begins to use that stuff.

One of the reasons that I love Youtube so much is all the great stuff they have available. I found out that the Crue was coming to Salt Lake, so of course what did I want to do? Watch them perform live, so I go to Youtube and within seconds I find two Crue concerts 30 years apart. How COOL! is that? This is a concert filmed on May 29th, 1983:

Take Me to the Top
Looks That Kill
Bastard
Shout at the Devil
Merry-Go-Round
Knock 'em Dead, Kid
Piece of Your Action
Live Wire
Helter Skelter

For unintentional comedy, can anything top the start of this video? What is that blue outfit that chick is wearing? I know it was the 80s, but still.....? And just a guess here, she'd never been to a rock concert before. Why does she keep on referring to it as "the rock and roll". And what she does exactly mean by "rock and roll you?" I know that the people that usually introduce rock bands aren't the hippest people ever, but she seemed to be especially tone deaf. Obviously someone's daughter or girlfriend.

Here's the Carnival of Sins Tour (some of this video may be offensive to some people. However no one ever said Motley Crue had a lot of taste. They weren't shooting for much more than the lowest common denominator.) However thanks mostly to Nikki Sixx they have a lot of great songs, and they always could kick butt from the stage.

The setlist, this concert seems to be from 2008:

1) "Shout At The Devil"
2) "Too Fast For Love"
3) "Ten Seconds To Love" (I Love at 13:00 mark it seems that Tommy can't wait until Vince shuts the hell up. He may even had started the song early.)
4) "Red Hot"
5) "On With The Show"
6) "Too Young To Fall In Love"
7) "Looks That Kill"
8) "Louder Than Hell"
9) "Live Wire"
10) "Girls Girls Girls"
11) "Wild Side"
12) "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)"
13) "Primal Scream"
14) "Glitter"
15) "Without You"
16) "Home Sweet Home"
Nikki's solo
17) "Dr. Feelgood"
Tommy's Solo
18) "Same Old Situation"
19) "Sick Love Song"
20) "If I Die Tomorrow"
21) "Kickstart My Heart"
22) "Helter Skelter"
23) "Anarchy In The USA"

From 2014:

4. Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.)
5. Looks That Kill
6. On With the Show

themusicaddict's 2000th Published Blog: Things I've Learned Over The Years and Favorite Songs (Partial Blog)

Hello,

This is my 2000th published blog, I have a couple of blogs that are started but probably will never be finished. I wrote my first blog on April 12th, 2008, that blog's topic was wondering if and when Guns N' Roses "Chinese Democracy" would ever be released. It was finally released 21/2 years later on November 23rd, 2008. "Chinese Democracy" was released to mixed reviews, personally I think that CD is better than most people do. I love the industrial rock song "Better". Not that anyone cares any more but Guns N' Axl is claiming they are working on their next CD. Don't hold your breath.

To this date the Guns N' Roses entry has had no recorded visits. Youtube was around then- their site debuted on February 14th, 2005. But for some reason I didn't add any videos to that blog, I'm sure I knew of Youtube's existence but I didn't add any videos to that blog. On July 2nd, 2013 I went back and worked more on that blog, including adding some videos.

And to clarify when I say partial blogs, I'm referring to blogs that have never been published. I have a few blogs that partial, but I have them published. That includes my Greatest Songs of All-Time blog. It will probably take at least a year to even begin to start paring down that blog. I have no idea how I'm going to make that so it's a coherent 500 best songs of all-time blog.

Anyway I want to write up a list of some of the things that I've learned over the years I've been writing this blog. I'll be mixing in great songs with the things I've learned.

1) Speaking of Youtube, it's one of the sites I use the most for the purposes of enhancing this blog. The other 3 sites I use the most to help me write this blog is Wikipedia, Rdio and amazon.com. A shout out to all of them and thanks for their help.

Tenacious D "Tribute" (File this under songs that are much better than the band that recorded it.):

2) I've learned more about music. Sometimes I've been forced to go a bit out of my comfort zone, for the most part that has been good. I've discovered a lot of great music that way. For instance, before starting my blog I had no idea that Tchaikovsky wrote both the "1812 Overture" and music for "The Nutcracker".

Oasis "Wonderwall":

3) Thanks specifically to the Greatest Songs of All-Time blog I've been working through all the songs I have on my iTunes. The last few months I've been listening to songs based on the longest time ago they were played. The longest ago song a song was played on my iTunes was December 18th, 2012. This has been a great thing. Not only have I rediscovered great songs, but I've also discovered lame songs that I've been able to delete. Songs that aren't worthy of taking up space on my MacBook's hard drive.

Fytch, Captain Crunch and Carmen Forbes "Raindrops" is one of those great songs, it was a song hidden on my own iTunes since September, 2012. I'd only heard this great song 4 times before rediscovering it the other day.

Alanis Morissette "You Oughta Know": (I jumped on the Alanis bandwagon almost from the beginning, but I don't remember ever seeing this video.)

Led Zeppelin "Kashmir":

Bee Gees "Tragedy":

Murray Head's "One Night In Bangkok":

Thanks for reading,

themusicaddict's Greatest Hits of Mickey Gilley

Hello,

This blog is going to highlight what I think are the greatest hits of Mickey Gilley. Gilley started out mainly as a country singer, but then changed to a more pop friendly sound in the 80s. The first time that Gilley really came to my attention was due to "Urban Cowboy", the movie starring John Travolta and Debra Winger. Gilley is the owner of the bar, Gilleys, where Travolta's character battled that bull. I can't remember if he won, it's been a long time since I've seen that movie. To this day Gilley still remains very much alive. (Thanks to wikipedia for the biographical information.)

"Window Up Above":

"Don't The Girls All Get Prettier At Closing Time":

"Stand By Me" (featuring a scene from "Urban Cowboy":

"A Headache Tomorrow (Or A Heartache Tonight)":

"You Don't Know Me":

"Lonely Days":

"Fool For Your Love":

"You've Really Got A Hold On Me":

"Too Good To Stop":

"Quittin' Time": (No video for the version of this song is available.)

"Doo-Wah Days":

themusicaddict's Things I'm Not Writing About: "Selma", "Ready Player One" and the Cowboys Lose etc.

Hello,

Yesterday I was able to go see the excellent movie "Selma". Although it's opening week in wide release for the movie, I was sad to see the movie was only half full. People who aren't seeing it, are missing an amazing movie. David Oyelowo plays Martin Luther King Jr. with the right mix of reality and humanity. King certainly made his share of mistakes, but those only show how much of a human he is. Those weaknesses only highlight his many strengths. In a review I read somewhere it stated even people who make mistakes can still achieve greatness. This movie is the story of that!

Carmen Ejogo, as Coretta Scott King, also is amazing as the tough but tender wife. She knows all about King's infidelities but she still remains a strength to her man.

Then the only word I can use for Ava Duvernay's masterful direction of the movie is Spielbergian. I only mean that in the best way possible. No disrespect to either, in fact only the utmost respect. Duvernay certainly has to be considered for a Oscar for her amazing directorial job. I can't wait to see her next movie.

Last night I finished Ernest Cline's "Ready Player One", not as good as "Selma" but good enough. Set mostly inside the virtual world of OASIS, a huge and complex game like world the novel brings back a lot of memories. One of the creators of Oasis, James Halliday, dies he creates a very intricate and complex game. The winner of which will be in control of Oasis. Wade Watts is the hero of the book. Over a several year journey he makes friends, fights again an evil corporation and spends way too much time in a virtual world.

Halliday's formative years were during the 80s, so there are a lot of pop cultural references to that amazing decade. As an old person I appreciated all of those, although I was never much of a gamer so there are probably a few references I missed.

Granted his real life world is terrible, but living in a virtual world for so many hours a day... ? Isn't that the most boring life one could live. I say this as someone who spends several hours a day on the internet, but I'm always in touch with the so-called "real world". After Watts' OASIS journey is over I think that Watts realizes the same thing. That's why I think the last sentence of the book is so fitting for all of us: "It occurred to me then that for the first time in as long as I could remember, I had absolutely no desire to log back into the OASIS".

In my opinion the sign of reading a good book is that it makes one want to pick up another book and immediately start reading it. This book did that for sure.

Football: Finally and thankfully the Cowboys were finally knocked out of the playoffs. I was glad that I had church during most of the game so I didn't even follow it on-line. I was glad to heard they lost. Growing up my favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys, however I hate how much of a circus that Jerry Jones has turned the team into. Jones has turned the once former greatest football franchise into a reflection of him, which is exactly why they've been so bad the last several years. If they had continued winning Jones would have interpreted that he was doing the right thing. But he has done very little right, it's obvious other people have been making the decisions for the last couple of years. How can I tell, well they went from 8-8 to 12-4 in one season. The credit will go to Tony Romo, Dez Bryant and DeMarco Murray. Should any credit go to Jason Garrett, come on! Anyone that knows anything has realized he's a puppet.

But let's be honest the credit should go to that amazing offensive line and the amazing job that Rod Marinelli did with the defense. The fact that he got that defense to be slightly above average is a tribute to his coaching abilities.

Cowboy fans enjoy your team's one year of relevance because it will be a brief mirage. Someone will come wanting Marinelli coaching their defense or maybe even a head coach. Then I'm guessing there are several teams out there that will overpay Murray to join their team. Then without that amazing offensive line and how much he was overworked this season he will regress. He'll be a shell of himself next season, no matter the team he plays with. I predict he'll return to his injury prone ways.

Tony Romo will come back one year older and more brittle, he'll still have that amazing offensive line protecting him. Too bad the Cowboys will be paying Romo about $27 million next season. That and after they overpay Bryant, about 60% of their salary cap will go to two of their players. The Cowboys will then return to reality and not a moment too soon.

Speaking of getting overpaid, that's going to be the case with Jason Garrett. After a perfect storm of favorable factors that lead this team to actually making the playoffs and even more incredibly winning a playoff game Jerry is going to show his love to his puppet. Jones will be throwing a lot of money in the direction of Garrett. As usual with Jones, he'll overpay someone that has already peaked. See Tony Romo, Miles Austin and dozens of others. Without all the favorable factors that made this Cowboys team relevant, the Garrett boat will start to sink. My guess in a couple of years Jones, if still alive, will not be able to get rid of Garrett fast enough.

As a former fan that would love to jump back on the bandwagon, the Jones family must go. Also their puppet head coach, overpaid and underperforming quarterback and their obnoxious wide receiver must go. I'm not sure how the Cowboys still have so many fans. They have to be the most annoying NFL team of the last several years.

I will keep on cheering on the 49ers and Bucs for the time being.

Yesterday I watched the Seahawks-Panthers game. The Seahawks are so fun to watch, especially their defense. Cam Chancellor was all over the place and it was a fun game to watch.

I also watched what I hope was the last game for Peyton Manning tonight. He's just not the same quarterback he was even last year. Peyton, you've had a long distinguished career and it's been great. However it's time to move on to your next challenge. Thanks for all the memories, even though I was never a fan of either of your teams. But I always thought you were a pretty stand up guy!!

Monday night is finally a real college football championship game. As fun as it is to watch the Seahawks for their defense, it's just as fun to watch the Oregon Ducks because of their offense. This is such a great time of the year for football.

themusicaddict's Greatest Hits of Gavin DeGraw

Hello,

As I've been working on my greatest songs of all-time blog, a project I work a bit more on each day, I'm obviously compiling lists of great songs by artists. So I've decided to take some of these lists and convert them into their own stand alone blogs.

For these stand alone blogs I just don't write down the hits, I do some research and listen to a bunch of their other songs. I like listening to their original albums, because that's usually when a band was at it's creative peak. It's usually those CDs where the obscure great songs are going to come from. Thanks to Rdio for giving me the ability to listen to all this great music for such an affordable price. Of course I also listen to my personal collection of music.

I'm going to define what I mean by "greatest hit", I mean the absolute great songs of any musician. If a song got popular, but I don't like that song, for the purposes of this blog that's not a hit. If a great song is obscure and I've only heard it because of fate then that's a great song. Some bands, like Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam will probably have multiple blogs dedicated to all their great songs. Whereas a band like Nickelback, if I ever write that blog, would only have 3 or 4 songs on it. They aren't the most creative and talented musicians, but did have a couple of great songs at the beginning of their career. However they've been derivative of their own sound, which is derivative of thousands of better bands before them. They are standing on the shoulders of the rock geniuses that came before them.

I did mention that I was going to write about John Mellencamp for my next greatest hits. But I realized I had focused on 80's musicians too much. I wanted to go poppier and more recent which is why I settled on Gavin Degraw. Enjoy!

themusicaddict's World's Most Influential Historical Figures

Hello,

This list will be American centric and I've lived in United States. However please feel free to disagree and off alternatives. This list may change a lot or a little over time.

The movie "Selma" comes to the theaters this weekend. Am I the only one that think it's incredible that this is the first movie made about Martin Luther King and all the great work he did?

-Without a doubt one of the most influential historical figures is Martin Luther King Jr. While thinking about him and "Selma" I started jotting down a list of history's most influential people. It's interesting how many traits these great leaders share. This list is in no particular order, but how can a list exist like this without Jesus' name being on it?

- Jesus, his words and teachings remain strongly in force today. Although not as strong as in the past his great deeds and words have seeped into modern culture so well that many things people say come from his words.

- Abraham Lincoln The Emancipation Proclamation, the Civil War

- George Washington: The father of America, the Revolutionary War

- Adolf Hitler: Behind the slaughter of 6 million Jewish lives, did much to instigate World War 2,

- Gandhi Leader of Indian independence movement in British ruled Indian, much like King he advocated for non-violent change. Inspired Steve Jobs to work his magic at Apple computer.

- John Fitzgerald Kennedy Most consider him one of America's greatest Presidents, the Cuban Missile Crisis- what would the world be like now if that had gone wrong- began America's slow descent into the quagmire of Vietnam. Even his death has created quite an industry based around potential theories and such phrases as the "single bullet theory".

- The American soldier- from the Civil War to the beaches of Normandy to Afghanistan, Iraq and increasingly it looks like there will be boots on the ground in Syria.

- Muhammad, believed by Muslims to be a prophet of God, united Arabia under Islam

- Rosa Parks, refused to give up her seat in the black section of the bus after the white section was filled

(Thanks to Wikipedia for helping with some of the details on Muhammad, Rosa Parks and Gandhi.)

Thanks to Rdio for giving me the ability to listen to all this great music for such an affordable price. Of course I also listen to my personal collection of music.

These songs are in no certain order and my favorite Bangles song is without a doubt the remake of a Simon and Garfunkel song "Hazy Shade of Winter":

"Be With You":

"Manic Monday":

"In Your Room":

"Walkin' Down Your Street":

I promise my next greatest hits blog will be more male centric, thinking about posting a John Mellencamp blog.

themusicaddict's Greatest Hits of Expose

Hello,

As I've been working on my greatest songs of all-time blog, a project I work a bit more on each day, I'm obviously compiling lists of great songs by artists. So I've decided to take some of these lists and convert them into their own stand alone blogs. These songs are in no certain order and I don't have a favorite Expose song.

For these stand alone blogs I just don't write down the hits, I do some research and listen to a bunch of their other songs. I like listening to their original albums, because that's usually when a band was at it's most creative. Those are the CDs where an artist has the lesser known, but still plenty good songs. Thanks to Rdio for giving me the ability to listen to all this great music for such an affordable price. Of course I also listen to my personal collection of music.
