(Finished January 23rd, 2025) Part 2 of The Top 200 Rock Songs of the 90s: Songs 182-167

Hello,

This is the most bizarre rock countdown I've ever seen. It has several songs by Maria McKee (who?), The Allman Brothers (they were okay in the 70s) and Saraya (Who? Part 2). I would much more prefer my Top 200 90s rock countdown, but this one is easier to work with in this context. It seems I published an older countdown? I'm not sure, but the list that came from the current Classic Rock History doesn't match up with what I have. I have no idea what I was doing. I'm going to keep the previous blogs as is and start all over with song #200.

182) The Allman Brothers Band "Bad Rain":

If this was my own Top 90s rock songs countdown, this song would close to if not in the Top Ten songs. I suggest this song instead Third Eye Blind "Semi-Charmed Life":

That's a perfectly okay song.. 181) The Rolling Stones "Sparks Will Fly":

...but it's nowhere as good as this song The Cranberries "Zombie", let's replace the above song with the Cranberries classic: 

I love the passion he sings this song with. 180) Nirvana "Heart-Shaped Box":

179) The Counting Crows "Mr. Jones":

178) Bon Jovi "Bed of Roses":

"This is a funny old song" indeed. 177) Rod Stewart "Cigarettes and Alcohol":

I suggest this song instead, another song by Rod Stewart "Rhythm of My Heart":

Of  course "The Motown Song" would be a good replacement as well.

176) Elton John "The One":

Oh I've heard this song before and like it. Although it's nowhere close to being a Top 200 rock song of the 90s. 175) Rush "Test For Echo":

Here's another 90s Rush rocker. Rush "Neurotica":

At least 2,000 songs would be more appropriate here. Sorry but the man just cannot sing. 174) Bob Dylan "World Gone Wrong":

Let's put this song here in place of the above terrible Bob Dylan song. Spacehog "In The Meantime":

171) Radiohead "Paranoid Android":
