(Finished February 10th, 2025) Part 1 of The 40s and 50s: Two or Three of the Best Songs From Each Year

Hello,

Let's go back to the 40s and 50s, two or three of the best songs from each year of that decade. Billboard started keeping track of this in 1946, I went back to that year.

I only knew two songs from this year. I put one of the songs I was familiar with and the number one song of that year. 1946) Johnny Mercer and The Pied Pipers "Personality":

2) Perry Como "Prisoner of Love":

1947) Francis Craig "Near You":

6) Kay Kyser with Gloria Wood "Woody Woodpecker":

1949) Vaughn Monroe "Riders In The Sky":

1951) The Four Aces "It's No Sin":

(Finished February 6th, 2025) Part 5 of The Top 100ish Pop Punk Songs

Hello,

I finished and update this blog on February 6th, 2026.

I have decided not to limit myself to only 100ish Pop Punk songs so I've expanded this entire blog series to as many blogs as it takes.

I was going to try and rank these into my Top 100ish Pop Punk songs of all-time. I realize I didn't have the time to do that but I want to have at least 100 of the best Pop Punk songs. What is Pop Punk, it's a genre of music that provides both the best of pop and punk in the same song. In other words its poppy songs that rock. At least that's my definition. Now people are going to disagree with my definition of Pop Punk and that's perfectly fine. Either enjoy this blog, make your own blog or do both.

69) Demi Lovato "Skin of my Teeth":

70) Green Day "Basket Case":

71) My Chemical Romance "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na)":

72) No Doubt "Just A Girl":

73) Olivia Rodrigo "Driver's License":

74) My Chemical Romance "To The End":

75) Good Charlotte "The Anthem":

Okay this isn't Pop Punk, but it has the same vibe. 76) Robert Palmer "Simply Irresistible":

77) Rooney "Daisy Duke":

78) 5 Seconds of Summer "Flatline":

79) Weezer "Tired of Sex":

80) Fall Out Boy "Dance Dance":

81) My Chemical Romance "The Sharpest Lives":

82) Paramore "Looking Up" (4.5 stars):

83) Wheatus "Teenage Dirtbag":

Oh to go back to these days when politics were only partially crazy. Now, of course, politics are completely bat shit crazy. 84) SR-71 "Politically Correct":

85) The Offspring "D.U.I.":
