(Finished December 15th, 2024) Business Insider's Top 15 Modern Christmas Songs Plus Some Old Favorites

Hello,

These are Business Insider's Top 15 Modern Christmas Songs. I have only heard one of these modern Christmas songs. I have no idea whether any of the songs are actually good. The first five songs are some of my, themusicaddict, greatest hits Christmas songs.

This was sung in church today and it was absolutely great, don't worry I didn't join in the singing. I didn't want to take away from the Christmas spirit. 1) "Jesus, Once of Humble Birth":

2) Royal Choral Society "The Hallelujah Chorus":

3) Thurl Ravenscroft "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch":

4) 4Him "What A Strange Way To Save The World":

5) Trans-Siberian Orchestra "Queen of The Winter Night":

These next 15 videos are the Business Insider's Top 15 Modern Christmas songs. 6) Destiny's Child "8 Days of Christmas":

7) Justin Bieber "Mistletoe":

8) Ariana Grande "Santa Tell Me":

9) Kacey Musgraves featuring Troye Sivan "Glittery":

10) girl in red "Two Queens In A King Sized Bed":

12) Taylor Swift "'Tis The Damn Season":

13) Sigrid "Home To You (This Christmas)":

14) Phoebe Bridgers "So Much Wine":

15) PJ Harding and Noah Cyrus "Snow In L.A.":

A cover of the Wham! classic. It's a mid-tempo song here, but I still like it. 16) Remi Wolf "Last Christmas":

17) Quinnie "Silver Second":

18) Sabrina Carpenter "Nonsense Christmas":

19) Cher "DJ Play A Christmas Song":

(Finished December 14th, 2024) Is "Wicked" On Stage Worthy of My Hard Earned Money?

Hello,

I'm thinking of going and seeing the Broadway play "Wicked" with my son. But the tickets are hella expensive. I know watching videos will never match the live experience but that's all I have.

1) Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth "Popular":

2) Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth "Defying Gravity":

3) Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande 'What Is This The Feeling":

4) Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande "Defying Gravity":

5) When I first heard this song a few weeks ago I thought it was an amazing original by Mat and Savannah Shaw. It wasn't until awhile later that I realized it was from "Wicked". I really like the Shaw's version:

6) Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande "Popular":

7) Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande "No One Mourns The Wicked":

8) The Cast of Wicked "One Short Day":

9) NPR's "Wicked" Tiny Desk Concert featuring Stephen Schwartz, Alyssa Fox and McKenzie Kurtz:

10) The "Wicked" Original Broadway Cast "Dancing Through Life":

11) Stephanie Hsu's "I'm Not That Girl":

12) McKenzie Kurtz "No One Mourns The Wicked":

13) Ariana Grande "The Wizard and I";

14) Concordia Chamber Choir "Dear Old Shiz":

15) Andy Hockley "A Sentimental Man":

16) Brian May and Kerry Ellis "Defying Gravity":

17) Megan Hilty "Thank Goodness":

I think this is a perfectly fine musical, but I would still put it in the second tier of musicals. It does have some great songs and I think it would be fun to take my son to the theatre for a "Wicked" good time. See what I did there!!

(Finished December 12th, 2024) Remembering Led Zeppelin

Hello,

Less than two months from now the Led Zeppelin discography will be coming to theatres. The two hour and one minute "Becoming Led Zeppelin" opens on February 7th, 2025. Although rumors of a reunion are floating around again, this is the closest we'll get to having a Led Zeppelin reunion. We will see all four of the original members of Led Zeppelin.

I've ordered a couple of Empress Valley Led Zeppelin bootlegs, I'm interested to know what the quality is like. My experience with unofficial Zeppelin bootlegs so far hasn't been very good.

Here are the first 17 Led Zeppelin related videos on YouTube today. That will be 17 different videos, not the same song 3 or 4 times. Although I much prefer the original Led Zeppelin 2, I'm not going to lie that I don't dig this.

1) If "Led Zeppelin 2" was recorded and released in the 50s.

2) "Whole Lotta Love":

3) "Immigrant Song":

4) "Kashmir":

5) "Misty Mountain Hop":

6) "Black Dog":

7) "Going To California":

8) "Heartbreaker":

9) Rock and Roll":

10) "Traveling Riverside Blues":

11) "Over The Hills and Far Away":

12) "No Quarter":

13) Okay I will make an exception for their best song "Whole Lotta Love":

14) "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp":

These next three songs are completely random 15) "When The Levee Breaks":

16) "Since I've Been Loving You":

This is with Jason Bonham on the drums in place of his Dad. 17) "Nobody's Fault But Mine":

(Finished December 9th, 2024) Songs Rocking My iPod

Hello,

This is a continuing series of blogs about songs rocking my iPod. Sometimes the songs that randomly play on my iPod create an amazing playlist. Today was one of those days.

Yeah I know this is an old song, but this song is timeless. Be careful who you calling old as this song is only a year older than me. 1) Shirley Bassey "Big Spender":

I have no idea how this band isn't bigger, they have so many great songs. 2) Mumford & Sons "Wilder Mind":

Are there any songs that you feel like you're the only who knows about them? This is one of those songs for me. 3) The Greg Kihn Band "The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em)":

4) Aerosmith "Jaded":

Such a fun song to sing along to. 5) John Michael Montgomery "Be My Baby Tonight":

6) My Chemical Romance "Teenagers":

I love this line "One situation involved a young man, he was the ocean and I was the sand." I love how she sings that line. I love that she's in Lin Manuel-Miranda's new musical, although her role as Cyrus is much too small.

7) Lauryn Hill "I Used To Love Him":

8) Deborah Allen "Baby I Lied":

9) Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers "Refugee":

10) Stone Temple Pilots "Sex Type Thing":

11) Def Leppard "Rock of Ages":

Quite simply one of my all-time favorite songs. 12) Styx "The Best of Times":

13) Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers "Learning To Fly":

14) Tim McGraw "Something Like That":

All that hair!! 15) Billy Preston "Nothing From Nothing":

16) Led Zeppelin "Living Loving Maid (She's Just A Woman)":

17) M "Pop Muzik":

18) Paula Abdul "Straight Up":

(Finished December 7th, 2024) Part 1 of The Best of Mononyms (A Name Composed of Only One Word)

Hello,

Let's enjoy some music by singers that are famous and are only known by one name. Let's see we have Madonna, Prince, Bono, Cher, Elvis, Sting, Adele, Pink, Rihanna, Shakira, Sia, Seal, Jewel, Lorde, Fergie, Sade, Halsey, Dido, Donovan, Morrissey, Duffy, Wynonna, Martika, Dion, Everlast, Beyonce, Lulu, Shaggy, Meiko, Usher and Shaggy. I'm going to include Ozzy in this group. Although it's probably pretty close in between he being called Ozzy or Ozzy Osbourne.

Two one name musicians I won't include here are Dio and Santana. When I think of those two musicians I think of the entire band, not just the front person. It seems Carlos Santana doesn't do that much singing.

I hadn't realized how many one name singers there are. Let's see whose music do I feel like listening to first? Let's go back to the late 80s and early 90s with Martika.

These next seven songs are by Martika. 1) "Toy Soldiers":

2) "I Feel The Earth Move":

3) More Than You Know":

4) "Martika's Kitchen":

5) "You Got Me Into This":

6) "Alibis":

7) "Cross My Heart":

These next nine songs are all by Halsey 8) "Castle":

9) featuring Kelsea Ballerini "the other girl":

10) "Hurricane":

11) "Strange Love":

12) featuring Gigi Hadid "Gasoline":

13) "Nightmare":

14) "Colors":

15) "Ghosts":

16) The Chainsmokers featuring Halsey "Closer":

These next two songs are by Lulu. 17) "The Man With The Golden Gun":

18) "To Sir With Love":
