Hello,
As so often I do this blog idea came to me while I was on my walk. I love 80s music and musicians. Also I don't think I have ever done of one of these blogs. I want to focus on solo songs by members of popular 80s bands. Several bands and solo stars popped into my mind. The main question is which bands should I include and not include. I know that David Bowie was in Tin Machine in the 80s, but I can't include him in this blog series. However I've decided to include John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison. Black Sabbath did record two CDs with Black Sabbath in the early 80s, thus I will include him.
I will include most, in not all, songs by the solo artist.
He was both in Montrose and Van Halen, aka Van Hagar, along with several other bands. 18) Sammy Hagar "I'll Fall In Love Again":
One of the two main singers with The Cars. 19) Ric Ocasek "Don't Lose Me":
A member of the Beatles and in bands with Yoko Ono. 20) John Lennon "Woman":
Both a main member of The Beatles and The Traveling Wilburys. 21) George Harrison "When We Was Fab":
22) One of the many singers from Fleetwood Mac. Lindsey Buckingham "Go Insane":
Bowie and the lead singer of the Rolling Stones. 23) Mick Jagger and David Bowie "Dancing In The Street":
24) Sting "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free":
The formerly on again, off again lead singer for Black Sabbath. 25) Ozzy Osbourne "No More Tears":
The lead singer of the still touring Iron Maiden. 26) Bruce Dickinson "Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter":
27) Dennis DeYoung "Desert Moon":
28) Don Henley "The End of The Innocence":
I just barely discovered this song last night. 29) Lou Gramm "Ready Or Not":
Clemons is the former saxophonist for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Sadly he passed away a few years ago. Springsteen affectionately called him Big Man. 30) Jackson Browne and Clarence Clemons "You're A Friend of Mine":
31) Peter Cetera and Amy Grant "Next Time I Fall":
32) Keith Richards "Take It So Hard":
33) Jon Bon Jovi "Blaze of Glory":
34) Donald Fagen "IGY (What A Beautiful World)":
