(Finished (maybe) October 30th, 2019) Damn Guns N' Roses Rocks Salt Lake City, They Were So Great Last Night!!!

Hello,

I was so lucky to be able to go see Guns N' Roses last night and they kicked ass. They played for 2.5 hours and played 25 songs. They played many classic songs and some deeper cuts. My only two minor quibbles was that it was a bit too loud (sorry I'm old) and I could've done without some of the jamming. But overall I would give it a solid A!

Guns N' Roses current incarnation:

Axl Rose, lead singer, piano and in general bad ass. After nearly every song he gave a very dainty bow at the center of the stage, which so doesn't fit in with his old reputation. The bad old Axl was nowhere to be found last night. He also gave the guy picking up his microphone stand quite a work out last night as Axl tossed it several times. I've watched a lot of videos leading up to the concert and I was concerned how Axl's voice was sounding now that he's 57. His voice sounded good, but it sounded suspiciously good. Is he singing over a backing track?

Duff McKagan, bassist, vocals and a long lanky presence on the stage. He's also the best backing vocalist they have.

Slash, lead guitarist, vocoder virtuoso and heart of the band. I loved so much he's wearing that Led Zeppelin shirt and even pulled out the double barrel guitar a couple of times.

Dizzy Reed, keyboards, piano and percussion.

Richard Fortus, guitars and a whirlwind of energy on the stage.

Frank Ferrer, drummer and a solid backbeat all night long. Based on appearance alone he may be the coolest of them all.

Melissa Reese, synthesizers, keyboards, backing vocals and you would know she's there unless you're looking for her.

Guns N' Roses closed their Salt Lake set last night with this all-time classic song, "Paradise City":

One of their older and lesser know songs "Shadow of Your Love":

"Welcome To The Jungle/ Double Talkin' Jive" (although "DTJ" was mostly a Slash solo):

"Dead Horse" and "Coma":

They ended their main set with this barn burner "Nightrain":

This song nearly always is put way too early in the setlist, second song here in Salt Lake City:

Slash showing off his vocoder skills on "Rocket Queen":

"Godfather Theme" and "Sweet Child O' Mine":

"Better":
