Goodbye Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy Osbourne released 13 solo CDs- no CD is really ever solo- and 9 CDs with Black Sabbath. The man who helped create "Crazy Train", "Flying High Again", "No More Tears", "Secret Loser", "Road To Nowhere", "Mama I'm Coming Home", "Iron Man", "I Don't Know" and "Patient No. 9".
Ozzy was born on December 3rd, 1948 in England and died July 22nd, 2025. He left behind quite a lot of great music, a brief reality TV career (mentioned in Bowling For Soup's 1985) and quite a large impact on pop culture.
I was never a big Black Sabbath fan and didn't really start liking Ozzy's music until I heard "The Ultimate Sin" in my college dorm. It's been 39 years since that CD was released and it's still my favorite Ozzy CD of all-time.
The death of Ozzy and that CD inspired this series of blogs. These are the stand out CDs from big bands. The songs in this series of blogs are from Ozzy's "The Ultimate Sin", R.E.M's "Monster", Aerosmith's "Permanent Vacation", Lady Gaga's "The Fame Monster" and many others. I'm going to have four songs from "The Ultimate Sin" on this first blog.
From Ozzy's "The Ultimate Sin":
The sound is a bit rough. 1) "The Ultimate Sin":
2) "Secret Loser":
3) "Fool Like You":
4) "Shot In The Dark":
From Billy Joel's "Glass Houses" 5) "You May Be Right":
2025 is the 40 year anniversary for the release of Sting's solo CD. For his solo debut CD, it's a very good CD. From Sting's "Dream of the Blue Turtles". This is one of the best songs from this classic CD. 6) "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free":
From Bruce Spingsteen's "The Rising" 7) "Lonesome Day":
From R.E.M's "Monster" 8) "Star 69":
From Neil Young's "Sleeps With Angels" 9) "Western Hero":
I don't know that I ever knew how good this song was. From U2's "Achtung Baby" 10) "Zoo Station":
As much as I love Weezer's second CD "Pinkerton" CD their first self-titled CD is by far their best CD. Every song on that CD is amazing, one of the best debut CDs ever. Also "Buddy Holly" is one of those songs that you remember how good it is every time you hear it. 11) "Only In Dreams":
From Cinderella's "Long Cold Winter" 12) "Take Me Back":
From Aerosmith's "Permanent Vacation" 13) "Heart's Done Time":
From RUN-DMC's "Raising Hell" 14) "Perfection":
From Journey's "Escape" 15) "Who's Cryin' Now":
From The Scorpions' "Humanity Hour 1": 16) "Hour 1":
17) From Queen's "Play The Game":
