Hello,
On Tuesday morning February 21st, 2012 Leslie James Ford passed away peacefully at home. He was born February 20th, 1925 in New Mexico. Yes, he died the day after his 87th birthday. Amongst the many highlights of his life included a stint in the US Navy during WW2. He dodged death at least once while on active duty. He left behind a legacy that includes 4 children, 18 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren. At his house there's a wall with pictures of all the kids, grand kids and great grand kids. Out of all of his legacies, that's his most impressive. How much different would have life been for 100's people if he hadn't married his sweetheart?
His funeral will be Saturday morning. His internment will be at the Kaysville City Cemetery where he'll be accorded full military honors.
Les is my ex-wife's grandfather. I always had a great amount of respect for him and all that he had accomplished in his life.
Les, thanks for your part in protecting this great country we are all so blessed to be able to live in. This song seems to be appropriate:
