These are great songs, but for some reason are extended way too long. These are the lengths of the songs as found on the CD, I haven't picked longer alternate versions to make a point.
Sinead O' Connor's "The Emperor's New Clothes": This song literally goes on 90 seconds too long. Just when I thought it finally ended it still played for 30 more seconds.
This version is 54 seconds shorter than the above version and it's still way too long. It's such a shame because the first 3.5 minutes of this song is so very good.
R.E.M.'s "Stand":
They Might Be Giants "Birdhouse In Your Soul": Not as long as I remember, but this song is still about 25 seconds too long.
ZZ Top's "La Grange": (This song would have been perfect if it had stopped about the 2:30 mark, any thing longer than that is redundant.)
"Call Me" (featuring Sporty-O and Yolanda) This isn't kind of the song that I usually like, but I quite like this song. It's the female singer though that makes this song, without her this song would just be another random hip hop/ electronic song. The below version is an appropriate length, but the version of this song on my iTunes is 5:53, which is about 90 seconds to long.
I'm not a Taylor Swift hater, in fact I love Taylor Swift. Happy 25th Taylor. She knows how to write a song and seems to be a real person, not a corporate created media drone. However this song would have been perfect if it ended 35 seconds earlier:
U2's "All I Want Is You": (A great song for the first 4:33, but the almost two final minutes aren't so great.)
Joan Osborne's "Right Hand Man": (On "Relish" this song is 5:01 and goes on too long, this version at 3:59 is almost the perfect length.) Miss Osborne is one of our most under appreciated female musicians, you need to check her out.
