Hello,
Happy New Year's!! Let's hope this year doesn't suck as much as 2025! Last year was a brutal year.
What were some of the biggest hits of 50 years ago, 1973? Also a couple of days ago I discovered the British version of "Life on Mars", part of which is based in 1973. That got me thinking I could post a blog about the best songs of 1973, then I realized that was also 50 years ago.
I've watched the first couple episodes of "Life On Mars" and so far so good. It's a bit of a formula in that there's a case a week. But there's also the fish out of water aspect of Sam Tyler coming from 2006 to 1973. Or at least that's what his reality appears to be. In the second episode Sam says he wishes he could have been put in 1988. I agree with him on that. The only reason I would want to go to 1973 over 1988 is to be able to see Led Zeppelin in their full glory.
The song that inspired the title of the show was released in 1973. There is a second show in this series. It's also named after a David Bowie song "Ashes to Ashes".
I have worked hard to limit the duplicates in these next songs. If I'm not successful in that then enjoy them twice.
