Hello,
Normally I would use Billboard's rankings for these kind of blogs, but I don't want to pay to have access to those charts. I figure Cashbox, or whoever else, would have similar rankings. This is Cashbox's Top 100 Songs for April 3rd, 1982. This first blog I'm going to post the songs that fell out as well as the songs that debuted that same week.
Abba "When All Is Said And Done":
Survivor "Summer Nights":
Little River Band "Take It Easy On Me":
Loverboy "Working For The Weekend":
Olivia Newton-John "Physical":
Rick Springfield "Love Is Alright Tonite":
Quarterflash "Harden My Heart":
Paul Davis "Cool Night":
Juice Newton "The Sweetest Thing (I've Ever Known)":
The Go-Go's "Our Lips Are Sealed":
Twenty years after his peak I had no idea that Chubby Checker was still making music. However I completely missed this song when it first came out. Well maybe missed isn't the right word, let's say I wasn't aware of it. Chubby Checker "Running":
Royal Philharmonic Orchestra "Hooked On Classics":
Songs that debuted this chart and will be included again when I come to their place in the countdown.
Number in parenthesis is what number the song debuted.
94) Atlantic Starr "Circles":
90) Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson "Just To Satisfy You":
89) John Hall Band "You Sure Fooled Me":
88) Chris Rea "Loving You":
87) Simon and Garfunkel "Wake Up Little Susie":
86) T.G. Sheppard "Finally":
84) Denice Williams "It's Gonna Take A Miracle":
83) Donnie Iris "My Girl":
80) Franke and the Knockouts "Without You (Not Another Night)":
