(Finished July 30th, 2024) Part 7 of the Best Pop, Rock and Soul Songs of 1986

Hello,

This is the first one of these blogs in over a year.

After watching another great episode of "Cold Case" I continue to say that show uses music to highlight and emphasize the emotions that enhance the storyline. Tonight I watched the Season 1 finale of "Cold Case", it's the episode entitled "Lover's Lane". The story is based in 1986, in other words a lot of great music from 1986 played. The first 8 songs below are songs played in that episode of "Cold Case". Some of those songs aren't actually from 1986. Starting with the ninth song though starts many of the greatest songs of that year.

It reminds me again how great the music was in 1986, but then again every year of the 80s had amazing music.

(Finished July 28th, 2024) Part 2 of Preview of Summer Nights With The Stars at Ed Kenley Amphitheater

Hello,

What do Colbie Caillat, Ben Folds, Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Lorrie Morgan all have in common? Not much, but they all will be appearing in Layton, Utah at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater this summer. The four musicians I mentioned are the four that interest me most. I'm going to include results from YouTube and my personal favorites in calculating the songs played for each artist.

Since this summer concert season is almost half over, maybe I should finish this blog? Ben Folds is playing this Wednesday, July 31st.

These next 7 songs are all by Lorrie Morgan 20) "Good As I Was To You":

21) "A Picture of Me (Without You)":

22) "Watch Me":

23) "Except For Monday":

24) "What Part of No":

A personal favorite 25) "Something In Red":

26) "We Both Walk":

These next five songs are all by Bachman-Turner Overdrive 27) "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet":

28) "Takin' Care of Business":

29) "Let It Ride":

30) "Roll On Down The Highway":

34) "American Woman":

35) "These Eyes":

I've been working on my list of greatest songs of all-time. Usually if I consider a song as a greatest song of all-time I can make that instantly. But there's some songs that are right on the border. I decided to do this blog to figure out if these songs are themusicaddict's greatest songs of all-time.

Stay tuned.

But a fun time was had by all and there might have even been some old white man dancing. 49) Trombone Shorty "Lie To Me":

50) Demi Lovato featuring YUNGBLUD "Freak":

51) Fall Out Boy (featuring Big Sean) "The Mighty Fall":

Hello,

Last night I became a Gearhead- meaning a fan of Bachman-Turner Overdrive. I saw them in concert in Layton, Utah last night. Randy Bachman played in both BTO and also The Guess Who. 1) Bachman-Turner Overdrive "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet":

This song takes on new life when played live, unfortunately no video can capture that. 2) The Guess Who "American Woman":

3) Joe Jackson "Is She Really Going Out With Him":

4) April Wine "I Like To Rock":

5) Rick Derringer "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Coo":
