When all is said and done I don't know that XTC will be on my Top ? Greatest 80's bands. And I probably wouldn't even think of them in this context if it wasn't for their amazing 1989 CD "Oranges & Lemons". That's one of the best semi-obscure CDs of the 80's, amazing song after amazing song. It's not often a band peaks on their 11th CD, which is what XTC did with "Oranges and Lemons". XTC was a bit of a quirky band, they didn't make a lot of so-called radio friendly songs. However in spite of themselves, they did have a few songs played on the radio. These are some of their best songs.
"The Loving":
"King For A Day":
My favorite XTC song: "Mayor of Simpleton":
With all the nonsense going on with repeal and replace Obamacare, this song seems to be so prophetic about the American president. "Here Comes President Kill Again":
"Chalkhills and Children":
"Dear God":
"Senses Working Overtime":
"I'm The Man Who Murdered Love":
"Respectable Street":
"Making Plans For Nigel":
Life Begins At The Hop":
"The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead":
"This Is Pop":
"All You Pretty Girls":
"Garden of Earthly Delights":
