Jonathan David "JD" McPherson is a musician with an Americana flair to his music. However when you think you can attach a genre to his music the next song is completely different. He mostly has mellow and mid tempo songs.
McPherson is 47 years old and he counts as his influences such diverse acts as Wu-Tang Clan, The Pixies and Led Zeppelin. Not a criticism: Zeppelin may be an influence, but I don't hear it in his music.
My rock girlfriend and I are going to go see him two weeks from tonight. The show will be in Salt Lake City.
