(Finished July 17th, 2021) Part 4 of Great Modern Rock (Mostly) Covers of Classic Songs

Hello,

Why does taking a great song and adding a rock feel to it make the great song even better? I don't really know the answer to that question. It's even better when the band remaking the song puts their own spin on that song and not a note for note recreation.

In my opinion this is the best version of this song. I didn't even like this song until GVF put their spin on it. 52) Greta Van Fleet "A Change Is Going To Come":

Yeah this isn't my favorite version of this song, the tempo is slowed down way too much. This is a cover of The Cars version of "Drive". 53) Soccer Mommy "Drive":

54) The National "Never Tear Us Apart":

55) The Foreign Resort featuring Anna Bouchard "Stand Back":

56) Phoebe Bridges "If We Make It Through December":

I don't think the Mazzy Star original will ever be topped, but this version is intriguing. 57) Muzz "Fade Into You":

58) Fruit Bats "Today":

59) Amigo The Devil "Before He Cheats":

60) Karen O with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross "Immigrant Song":

61) Powerman 500 "Relax":

62) Kittle "Run Like Hell":

63) Three Days Grace "Wicked Game":

64) Chevelle "Black Boys On Mopeds":

65) The Lost Prophets "Need You Tonight":

66) The Highwomen "Highwomen":

A lot of bands have covered this song. 67) Tantric "The Chain":

68) Rammstein "Stripped":

(Finished July 13th, 2021) 80's Message Songs, Part 2

Hello,

What do these things have in common? "How fragile we are", "Free Nelson Mandela", "Born In The USA" and "The average age was 19". Yes, these were some of the messages of the 80s. It was a time of political activism and messaging, large concerts trying to make real change in the world. Some of these large concerts were Live Aid, Farm Aid, concerts for Amnesty International and various political causes.

Not all the messages below are serious, although most of them are,  I tried to include some fun messages as well. A few songs from the 90s have slipped through.
