(Finished August 7th, 2017) themusicaddict's Dream Setlist for Incubus in Salt Lake City, August 9th, 2017

Hello,

I'm going to see Incubus, and Jimmy Eat World, in concert on August 9th. I have to admit I lost a bit of enthusiasm when reviewing one of their recent setlists. I recently posted a blog highlighting that setlist and I started thinking about how it could be made better. Incubus is touring to support their latest CD "8", which is a very good CD. While each concert should have some songs from their latest CD, most people go mainly to hear the "old" songs. Old being defined as songs from before this recent CD.

After listening to most of Incubus's songs from over the years I've come up with what would be the best Incubus setlist according to me, themusicaddict.

To start off a concert you need to have one of your bigger hits so that you can put a hook in their the audience's mouth. But you don't want it to be one of your most well known songs. They've been playing 5 or 6 songs from "8" so I included 5 new songs in this blog.

1) "The Warmth":

Then you want to play a few of your new songs, before you get into the main part of your set.

2) "Undefeated":

3) "Familiar Faces":

Incubus usually plays the pointless "When I Become A Man" before going into this song. I suggest Incubus not play "Man" at all. It slows down the momentum of a concert. 4) "Throw Out The Map":

Then you want to start building momentum, so you play a bunch of great songs.

I wish they would just play this song as a straight ahead rocker without the two minute slowdown. This is the kind of song that Incubus can really build up some momentum and propel them into the next song. The more momentum usually the better the concert. 5) "Sick Sad Little World":

6) "Leech":

7) "Nebula":

One of my favorite songs from "8". 8) "Love In A Time of Surveillance":

Then for the get out in the crowd or acoustic songs:

8) "Talk Shows On Mute":

9) "Southern Girl":

Okay you got those tender moments out of the way, now Incubus we want to be rocked. Close out your main set with some of your best songs and build up some momentum:

10) "Make Yourself":

11) "Pardon Me":

12) "Privilege":

As long as the new song rocks hard enough, you can throw it in this late in the set.
13) "Nimble Bastard":

14) "Beware! Criminal":

15) "A Crow Left of the Murder":

16) "Pistola":

17) "Nowhere Fast":

18) "Megalomaniac":

19) "Warning":

Encore

20) "Wish You Were Here":

21) "Nice To Know You":
