(Finished July 5th, 2021) Part 3 of Great Modern Rock (Mostly) Covers of Classic Songs

Hello,

Why does taking a great song and adding a rock feel to it make the great song even better? I don't really know the answer to that question. It's even better when the band remaking the song puts their own spin on that song and not a note for note recreation. The Five Finger Death Punch directly below is a bit harder than I would like, although it's still a fine version. Although no one will ever top the Animals original.

35) Nonpoint "In The Air Tonight":

36) Vampires Everywhere "Teenage Dream":

37) Black Veil Brides "Rebel Yell":

38) Adrenaline Mob "Come Undone":

A cover of the Pat Benatar classic. 39) Heaven Below "Heartbreaker":

40) Candlelight Red "She's Got The Look":

41) Murderdolls "White Wedding":

42) Faster Pussycat "You're So Vain":

On this cover of a Beastie Boys classic, this video has a very Beastie Boys sense-of-humor. 43) Cancer Bats "Sabotage":

44) Amity Affliction "Love Is A Battlefield":

45) Chaos Divine "Africa":

I'm not saying all of these covers are good, although most of them are. But this cover is particularly bad- it sucks everything out of what makes the Nancy Sinatra original so good. 46) Megadeth "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'":

47) Fozzy "S.O.S.":

48) The Lemonheads "Mrs. Robinson":

49) Gatsby's American Dream "Just Like Heaven":

50) The Muffs "Kids In America":

51) Black Pumas "Fast Car":

(Finished July 3rd, 2021) Part 2 of Great Songs From "Cold Case"

Hello,

I updated this blog on March 27th, 2022.

"Cold Case" was a law procedural TV series from 2003-2010. The show is on HBO Max and Roku TV. I'm so glad that it's back. It was one of my favorite shows when it was first broadcast and it's still one of my favorite shows. What a great cast, starting with the lovely Kathryn Morris. Other great actors include Justin Chambers, Danny Pino, John Finn,  Jeremy Ratchford and Thom Barry. Great stories, great actors and great characters. One of the best things is how well the show mixes music in with the stories. That excellent mixing of story and music are able to make both better. Here are some of the best songs featured in season one.

Thanks to tunefind.com for these songs. If you want to find out the title to any song from a movie or TV show just head over to tunefind.com. I've used that website many times for this blog and to answer my own questions.
