I selected my favorite songs from Ranker's Top 70s One Hit Wonders. Technically not all of these songs are from One Hit Wonder bands. Some of these bands have more than one hit and have more than several good songs.
1) Norman Greenbaum "Spirit In The Sky":
2) Warren Zevon "Werewolves Of London":
3) Thin Lizzy "The Boys Are Back In Town":
This band also had a number # 11 hit with "Good Girls Don't". Not only that but The Knack has many other great songs. I blog about The Knack a fair amount because I love so many of their songs. If you haven't already, check out their "Get The Knack" CD. My only complaint about the Knack is I wish their lyrics weren't so dumbed down and sexual. 4) The Knack "My Sharona":
5) Gerry Rafferty "Baker Street":
6) Mountain "Mississippi Queen":
7) Wild Cherry "Play That Funky Music":
8) Nick Lowe "Cruel To Be Kind":
9) Player "Baby Come Back":
They actually had 4 Top Fifteen hits over the late 60s and early 70s. 10) Badfinger "Day By Day":
11) Starland Vocal Band "Afternoon Delight":
Wright's "Love Is Alive" went to #2 in the same year, 1976. 12) Gary Wright "Dream Weaver":
"Time Passages" went to #36 in 1978, two years after his first hit. 13) Al Stewart "Year of the Cat":
14) Nick Gilder "Hot Child In The City":
15) Shocking Blue "Venus":
16) Terry Jacks "Seasons In The Sun":
17) Ace "How Long":
