(Finished May 1st, 2023) Part 1 of the Best Pop, Rock and Soul Songs of 1986

Hello,

After watching another great episode of "Cold Case" I continue to say that show uses music to highlight and emphasize the emotions that enhance the storyline. Tonight I watched the Season 1 finale of "Cold Case", it's the episode entitled "Lover's Lane". The story is based in 1986, in other words a lot of great music from 1986 played. The first 8 songs below are songs played in that episode of "Cold Case". Some of those songs aren't actually from 1986. Starting with the ninth song though starts many of the greatest songs of that year.

It reminds me again how great the music was in 1986, but then again every year of the 80s had amazing music.

Released in 1985, but this song was perfect for this "Cold Case" episode. 1) The Hooters "And We Danced":

2) Belinda Carlisle "Mad About You":

3) Rick Springfield "Love Somebody":

From 1983, but this song would have still sounded great in 1986. It was one of those good songs that wasn't overplayed. 4) Michael Sembello "Maniac":

5) Men Without Hats "The Safety Dance":

6) The Psychedelic Furs "Pretty In Pink":

7) The Psychedelic Furs "The Ghost In You":

This song is especially poignant in this "Cold Case" episode. 8) Stevie Nicks and Don Henley "Leather and Lace":

9) Lionel Richie "Say You, Say Me":

10) Klymaxx "I Miss You":

11) Mr. Mister "Broken Wings":

12) Whitney Houston "How Will I Know":

13) Benjamin Orr "Stay The Night":

14) Robert Palmer "Addicted To Love":

15) Whitney Houston "Greatest Love of All":

16) The Beastie Boys "Brass Monkey":

17) Berlin "Take My Breath Away":
