(Finished Mar 7th, 2019) Craig's Classics, Part 1

Hello,

I wanted to post a blog of more obscure songs that I really love. These songs are great songs, but for whatever reason never got the love they deserve. Well here's me trying to get them some long awaited love. Except for a couple of exceptions I'm going to do my best to post songs that I haven't or hardly ever posted before- but I just can't resist that Tracy Ullman song I love so much.

A band that hasn't got the love they deserve and this is one of their best songs.
1) Against Me! "White Crosses":

2)  Slade "Run Runaway":

A one hit wonder, but oh what a hit. But beware of the cheesiness. 3) Bertie Higgins "Key Largo":

You probably know her for "One Of Us". 4) Joan Osborne "Right Hand Man":

5) OMC "How Bizarre":

The band that brought us "Alive", "Even Flow" and so many other great songs has this lesser known gem. 6) Pearl Jam "Red Mosquito":

The man known for about 30 classic songs, but this song is a Craig Classic. 7) Billy Joel "Sleeping With The Television On":

Yes, the vampire song. 8) Toadies "Possum Kingdom":

9) Ben Folds Five "Song For The Dumped":

This is one of those songs that caused me to fall in love with The Counting Crows. 10) Counting Crows "Rain King":

11) Voice of The Beehive "Monsters and Angels":

You know them for "The Difference", "One Headlight and "Sixth Avenue Heartache": 12) The Wallflowers "Angel On My Bike":

13) The Hooters "Where Do The Children Go":

You know them for me posting about them for the last couple of months until I finally got to see them in concert. 14) Muse "The Resistance":

15) Veruca Salt "Seether":

He sang about "What It's Like", but don't overlook this sweet ballad.
16) Everlast "White Trash Beautiful":

You, or should I say U, know her for "Nothing Compares 2 U. But she also has many other great songs including this gem. 17) Sinead O' Connor "Daddy I'm Fine":

18) The Cranberries "I Just Shot John Lennon":

She was a Go Go and then went solo. 19) Jane Wiedlin "Rush Hour":

(Started March 4th, 2019) Mash Up Blog: The Prodigy and Badflower

Hello,

Keith Flint, lead singer of The Prodigy, apparently committed suicide this morning. I'm not going to say that I am a humongous Prodigy fan, but I do love a few of their songs.

One of the hottest new bands is Badflower, a butt kicking rock band from LA. Their band is made up Josh Katz, Joey Morrow, Alex Espiritu and Anthony Sonetti. Their CD "OK, I'M SICK"was released February 22nd, 2019. While I do like Badflower, I would like them more if they didn't use the f bomb so much.

Hello,

With the fantastic Muse/ Walk The Moon concert in the rear view mirror, it's now time to look ahead to my next music concert- for now. That would be the lovely and talented Carrie Underwood.

I'm not a huge country music fan, but there are a few country artists that I quite like. One of those is the lovely Miss Carrie Underwood. I'll be seeing her the next time she's in town, which will be Saturday, September 14th, 2019. This is part 2 of a 2 part series. The first blog focused on the songs of her opening acts, Maddie and Tae and Runaway June, and the first few songs from a recent Carrie setlist. Below are the rest of the songs from Carrie's setlist.

Carrie will return to the road on May 1st- two months from today- in Greensboro, North Carolina.

(Finished March 2nd, 2019) Walk The Moon and Muse in Salt Lake City on February 28th, 2019

Hello,

Muse and Walk The Moon rocked the Viv in Salt Lake City on February 28th, 2019.

Walk The Moon opened the night with a very energetic 40 minute set. Their set was highlighted by "Shut Up and Dance" and "Anna Sun", but all of their songs were great. Their music is so catchy that it made this old white man stand up and attempt to dance. One minor complaint I wish they would have played "I Can Lift A Car". But they were about about as good as an opener can be.

The lyrics of this song could be a bit awkward on a first date. Great lyrics, great video. "Shut Up and Dance":

"Anna Sun":

"I Can Lift A Car":

Muse played a tight 1 hour, 55 minute show here in Salt Lake on February 28th, 2019. Their setlist is below. Muse didn't spend a lot of time talking, they just played great song after great song. No complaints about them not talking more. I go for the music, not the talking. Not only songs, but many very cool videos played in the background behind them. The music was loud, but not to the point of being obnoxious. They also had- I'm not sure what the word them is- dancers? These dancer? added additional flair to the concert. (And if my use of the word "flair" made you think of "Office Space" you're welcome.)

I only have 3 regrets about this show. One that I don't know Muse's music better so that I could sing along more. If I had known their songs better, the concert would have been better. I really wish they would have played "Something Human" and "Resistance".

However all of that being said I would give this concert a grade of B+/ A-. If you like a great rock show then this is the concert for you.

"Something Human":

Because "love is the resistance". "Resistance":

This is the first of two times a version of this song is played. The "Stranger Things" theme music is played with this song live. 1) "Algorithm":

2) "Pressure":

3) "Drill Sergeant/ Psycho":

4) "Break It To Me":

5) "Uprising":

I love, love, love this song. 6) "Propaganda":

7) "Plug In Baby":

"Pray" (Dom and Chris on big drums):

8) "The Dark Side":

9) "Supermassive Black Hole" (with "Close Encounters" intro):

10) "Thought Contagion":

11) "Interlude"/12) "Hysteria":

13) "The 2nd Law: Unsustainable":

14) "Dig Down" (Acoustic Gospel Version):

STT Interstitial 1

15) "Madness":

16) "Mercy":

17) "Time Is Running Out":

18) Houston Jam:

19) "Take A Bow":

20) "Prelude" / 21) "Starlight":

It says encore on the setlist, but if there was really an encore it only lasted for a few moments.

STT Interstital 2

This is from Salt Lake City. 22) "Algorithm":

Many of these videos are from Salt Lake. Do you see that alien looking like creature on the video screens at the back of the stage?
23) "Stockholm Syndrome/ Assassin/ Reapers/ The Handler/ New Born":

24) "Knights of Cydonia" (Ennio Morricone's "Man With A Harmonica" intro):
