(Finished October 17th, 2023) Part 11 of The Best of the First Eleven Years of This Century: 2000-2010

Hello,

Ah the 2000s, a decade known for 9/11, the 2008 financial crash, 2003's Iraq War, a tsunami that killed over 230,000 people. There was a growing awareness of climate change, which continues to escalate.

While there were some bad things those 11 years there were also a lot of great things. Things such as Harry Potter, "The Davinci Code" (opinions may vary),

It was also the time that included Clint Eastwood's masterful "Million Dollar Baby" and that amazing performance by Hillary Swank. Also that was the year of "The Dark Knight" and "King Kong".

Obviously some of the songs of the decade are below. Some of the best CDs of that timeframe are Alicia Keys "Songs In A Minor", Ryan Adams "Gold", The New Pornographers "Electric Version", Sufjan Stevens "Illinois", Franz Ferdinand's self-titled CD, U2's "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb", Death Cab For Cutie's "Transatlanticism", Arctic Monkeys' "Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not", Green Day's masterclass "American Idiot", The White Stripes "White Blood Cells", Bruce Springsteen's best CD "The Rising" (you heard me), U2's "All That You Can't Leave Behind", Arcade Fire's "Funeral" and The Strokes "This Is It". Expect to see several songs from the above CDs on here.

And yes I know 2000-2010 is actually 11 years, it's okay and just enjoy the music. For those of you who think my 102 songs for the 2000s is too limiting these blogs have a lot more songs for your enjoyment.
