Songs On themusicaddict's Radar, Part Two: From the 70's to Today

Hello,

These are some songs that I like and have stumbled across/been reminded of the last few days. My thanks to Entertainment Weekly, Youtube, situations at work, my iTunes and iPod and Rdio.

But first let's start in the greatest decade for music, the 80's.  Billy Idol's "White Wedding, Part 1":

Depeche Mode's "Everything Counts" (Live):

We are undergoing a major computer upgrade where I work. The previous system wasn't very good and so far the new upgrade isn't much better. For some reason this song came to mind, Neil Young's "Piece of Crap":

And of course this is the attitude they want us to have: Katrina and the Waves "Walking On Sunshine":

One of the best singers from the 80s was Cyndi Lauper, she had a large hand in writing the excellent music from the Broadway play "Kinky Boots". This is one of the many great songs from that play. Anton Stephens' "Not My Father's Son":

With the Pittsburgh Pirates playing so well, could this year be the return of the "We Are Family" phenomenon in Pittsburgh? The 1979 World Series was one of the best in my lifetime.

Not every Disco song holds up all these years later, but this still sounds great. Sister Sledge's "We Are Family":

After moving back, let's move forward again. From 1991 Ozzy Osbourne's "No More Tears":

Here's a couple of songs from the not so good, 80's themed "Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll":

Elisabeth Gilles "Desire":

Elisabeth Gilles "New York 2015":

Here are two survivors from the 80's who are still making relevant music. First up New Order's "Restless":

and Prince's "Stare": (Of course in Prince's infinite wisdom, he won't allow his music on Youtube. He seems to prefer amateur musicians to play his music.)

Here are three songs from the last few years:
Florence + The Machine's "Shake It Out":

Hollywood Undead's "Gangsta Sexy":

Little Big Town's "Boondock":

and finally 3 songs from this year:

The Band Perry's "Live Forever":

Rachel Platten's "Beating Me Up":

Disturbed's "Save Our Last Goodbye":
