(Finished February 21st, 2022) Part 2 of Great Songs That Didn't Chart In The American Top 40

Hello,

These are mainly 80s songs that are great but never made the Top 40. I was and you'll be shocked by some of these songs. These are some amazing songs. As the foundation for this series of blogs I'm going to start off with a two part huffpost article. Then from there I'll will be finding songs on my own. There are likely dozens, if not more, amazing songs that never made the Top 40. I get where the song peaks at from wikipedia.org- most of those rankings come from Billboard. The didn't chart at all meant the song didn't even make the Top 100. Otherwise the number in parenthesis is the songs peak on the Billboard Hot 100 in America.

I'll never understand how this song never charted, it was all over the radio in 1979. That means AM and FM Radio, which is one of the few places people could hear music then. 18) Supertramp "Breakfast In America" (Didn't chart at all)":

19) Supertramp "Dreamer" (Didn't chart at all):

20) Supertramp "Ain't Nobody But Me" (Didn't chart at all):

"Kiss Them For Me" was their only Top 40 American hit, it soared all the way to #23. 21) Siouxsie and the Banshees "Cities In Dust" (Didn't chart at all.):

22) Siouxsie and the Banshees "Peek-A-Boo" (#53):

23) Siouxsie and the Banshees "Tearing Apart" (Didn't chart at all and it seems it wasn't even released as a single.)

24) Siouxsie and the Banshees "Dear Prudence" (Yet another great song not released as a single.):

XTC only had one song that hit the Top 100 in America and it was 25) "The Mayor Of Simpleton" (#72):

26) XTC "King For A Day (Didn't chart at all.):

27) XTC "The Loving" (Didn't chart at all)":

From 1992. 28) XTC "The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead" (Didn't chart at all):

29) "Here Comes President Kill Again" (Wasn't released as a single.):

30) "Poor Skeleton Steps Out" (Wasn't released as a single.):

31) XTC "Dear God" (#99 in the UK, but nowhere near the American Hot 100.)

One of the most memorable videos of the early MTV days. 32) Missing Persons "Words" (#42):

33) Missing Persons "Destination Unknown" (#42):

Fan made video. 34) Missing Persons "Walking In LA" (#70):
