(Finished February 22nd, 2022) Part 3 of Great Songs That Didn't Chart In The American Top 40

Hello,

These are mainly 80s songs that are great but never made the Top 40. I was and you'll be shocked by some of these songs. These are some amazing songs. As the foundation for this series of blogs I'm going to start off with a two part huffpost article. From there I'll be finding songs on my own. There are likely dozens, if not more, amazing songs that never made the Top 40. I get the song peak info from wikipedia.org most of those rankings come from Billboard. The didn't chart at all meant the song didn't even make the Top 100. Otherwise the number in parenthesis is the songs peak on the Billboard Hot 100 in America.

35) The Cure "Why Can't I Be You" (#54):

Literally one of the greatest songs of all-time, as certified by themusicaddict. This song technically made the Top 40, but it should have went a lot higher. 36) The Cure "Just Like Heaven" (#40):

37) The Cure "Fascination Street" (#46):

38) The Cure "Hot Hot Hot" (#68):

39) Howard Jones "Like To Get To Know You Well" (#49):

Howard Jones, aka Ho Jo, 40) "All I Want" (this song only peaked at 76 in America):

I loved the early days of MTV, when people were still figuring out how to make videos. 41) Bow Wow Wow "I Want Candy" (#62):

42) Bow Wow Wow "Do You Wanna Hold Me (#77):

Another certified by themusicaddict as a greatest song of all-time. 43) Modern English "Melt With You" (#78):

44) Neneh Cherry "Manchild" (Didn't chart at all.):

45) Neneh Cherry "Heart" (Didn't chart at all):

All these songs are by AC/DC 1979 to 1990. "You Shook Me All Night" went to #35 and "Back In Black" went to #37. Songs #46 to #57 are all by AC/DC.

With the singer who first sang it, Mr. Bon Scott. 46) "Girls Got Rhythm" (Didn't chart at all.):

47) "Highway To Hell" (Appropriately enough the 47th song in this blog series peaked at 47):

48) "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" (1980 Reissue) (Didn't chart at all.):

49) "Touch Too Much" (#106):

50) "Big Balls" (Didn't chart at all.):

51) "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" (Didn't chart at all.):
