The best of the best, the creme de la creme in this specific subset of songs. Although these are all one hit wonders, those hits are some very memorable songs.
10) Deee-lite "Groove Is In The Heart":
9) L.A. Guns "Ballad of Jayne:
8) Siouxsie and The Banshees "Kiss Them For Me":
Obviously there are one hit wonders and there are one hit wonders that have a lot of great songs. Queensryche is in the second category, they have several great songs. The fact that those songs weren't "hits" is no reflection on the quality of those songs. Queensryche is my 95th greatest 80's band of all-time. 7) Queensryche "Silent Lucidity":
6) Faith No More "Epic":
5) Lighting Seeds "Pure":
4) Steelheart "I'll Never Let You Go (Angel Eyes):
3) Calloway "I Wanna Be Rich":
2) Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch (featuring Loleatta Holloway) "Good Vibrations":
Like Queensryche, she only has one hit. However she has dozens of great songs. Her first CD "The Lion and the Cobra" is one of the best, yet most unappreciated CD's of the 80s. It's such a solid collection of great songs. I'll be posting all her great 80's era songs when I write about her 80's era output. She'll be coming up in the next couple of months on my Top 80's Musicians of all-time countdown. And by the way a man by the name of Prince wrote this song, Prince is also coming up as a greatest 80's musician of all-time. 1) Sinead O' Connor "Nothing Compares To U":
