(Finished May 10th, 2022) Part 1 of The Best 80sish Synth Songs

Hello,

I like to make the joke that the best way to tell if a movie is an 80s movies is by the synth background music. A lot of time those are great synth songs, but not always. There were a lot of terrible synth songs in the 80s. It was a trend that a lot of people tried to exploit, some much better than others.

Thanks again to ranker.com for the ideas. Also thanks to Paramo de Tres Incendios Records for their Synth Pop YouTube video. Thanks for introducing to so much new music.

1) The Human League "Don't You Want Me":

2) Corey Hart "Sunglasses At Night":

3) Tears For Fears "Mad World":

One of the greatest songs of all-time so obviously one of the best synth songs ever. Also one of the most bizarre videos ever.  Two questions: 1) Who was the one that came up with the idea of Dave and the chair? 2) Who actually approved that idea?
4) Depeche Mode "Enjoy The Silence":

5) Falco "Rock Me Amadeus":

6) The Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These)":

7) New Order "Blue Monday":

8) Depeche Mode "Everything Counts":

9) Frankie Goes To Hollywood "Relax":

10) Pet Shop Boys "It's A Sin":

This is the first time I'm hearing this song. 11) Spandau Ballet "To Cut A Long Story Short":

12) Paul Hardcastle "19":

13) Erasure "A Little Respect":

This and Europe's "The Final Countdown" are the two most famous examples of 80s' synth pop.
14) Harold Faltermeyer "Axel F":

15) Soft Cell "Tainted Love":

16) Pet Shop Boys "West End Girls":

17) Depeche Mode "Strangelove":
