USA-Ghana Game Day

Hello,

I woke up thinking of soccer this morning, that's not something that usually happens. The countdown is on for the USA-Ghana match up today. The winner of that match plays the winner of Uruguay-South Korea, which conveniently is the game before. That game starts at 10:00am EST. Go USA!

Uruguay beat South Korea 2-1 so they await the winner of the U.S.A. and Ghana.

I can't believe the USA gave up an early goal again and trail 1-0 at halftime against Ghana. Real Salt Lake striker and USA team member Robbie Findley, you've got to barely that ball in the back of the 'net when you have that good of a chance again!

Landon Donavan, you are the man. It's tied 1-1 going into extra time. 30 minutes of play and then penalty kicks. The winner play Uruguay on Friday. Nerve wracking stuff. Too little, too late for the United States. The U.S.A. continues to move forward in soccer, but it's very slow. I was hoping to see more from Jozy Altidore and Robbie Findley in this World Cup. Clint Dempsey and Landon Donavan are obviously the two heroes of this World Cup for the U.S.A. Two World Cups in a row the U.S.A. loses to Ghana, a nation it is 23 times larger.

Congratulations to Edwin Jackson, who threw the 4th no-hitter of the season. This was one of the gutsiest no-hitters ever. He started out very wildly. He threw 149 pitches, the most thrown in MLB in 5 years. He also gave up 8 walks. This pitching performance was a masterpiece, but an ugly masterpiece. Still a no-hitter is a no-hitter. It's been an amazing year for pitchers. (Thanks to espn.com and the Associated Press.)

When it comes to my love life, this is the song that is most prevalent in my thoughts:

I understand the point of the song, but what's the point of this very strange video. It's a great song though.

And this is the kind of woman I want to avoid:

The first two lines just bring back to many bad memories.

Me old my lady sittin' in the shade
Talkin' about the money that I ain't made
Singin' o boy dontcha line the
Track a lack a
O boy dontcha line the track
O boy dontcha line the track a lack a
O boy dontcha line the track

If I could, I surely would
Stand on the rock that Moses stood
singin' o boy dontcha line the track a lack a
O boy dontcha line the track
O boy dontcha line the track a lack a
O boy dontcha line the track

Drank so much hooch
It made my eyes be gettin' blurry
They say I nailed her to the wall
A stitch in time don't mean a thing
No hangman jury could make me crawl
Cause I'm a poor boy
Dontcha line the track a lack a
O boy dontcha line the track
O boy dontcha line the track a lack a
OOO

Whacha do with the gun that's loaded
Shot her dead and her heart exploded
Tell me baby now d-dontcha worry
Like lying to a hangman jury

I swear I didn't know that 45 was loaded
In fact my memory ain't so clear
That's not to say she didn't
get what she deserved
Least that's the way it looks from here
Boy when you line the track a lack a
Hey boy dontcha line the track

OOO my love came tumblin' down
OOO love came tumblin' down
OOO (Let's get outta here)
Love come tumblin'

And every night she take her thing
Into the city and in the
mornin' make me beg cause
If I'd taken all her real titty gritty
I'd smack her right upside the head boy
Dontcha line the track a lack a
O boy dontcha line the track
O boy dontcha line the track

OOO my love came tumblin' down
OOO love came tumblin' down
OOO love come tumblin'

Poor boy sweatin' in the hot summer night
Hangman waitin' for the early morning light
Singin' O boy dontcha line the track a lack a
O boy dontcha line the track
O boy dontcha line the track a lack a
O boy dontcha line the track

If I could, I surely would
Stand on the rock that Moses done stood
Singin' O boy dontcha line the track a lack a
O boy dontcha line the track
O boy dontcha line the track a lack a
O boy dontcha line the track

Following the game, themusicaddict should be back later. I'll be very sad or ecstatic.
