Hello,
I keep on thinking of songs that go along with the book I just finished reading, Doug Twohill's very good "Death In Durango". "Durango" is a short, fun and fast read. It's a love letter to the old West and all of it's myths, legends and real life brutalities.
These are songs about the Old West or the attitude of the Old West.
1) Toby Keith and Willie Nelson "Beer For My Horses":
2) Garth Brooks "Wolves":
3) Johnny Cash "(Ghost) Riders In The Sky":
4) Willie Nelson "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys":
5) Michael Martin Murphey "Wildfire":
6) Conway Twitty "Don't Call Him A Cowboy":
One of the greatest songs of all-time.7) Dan Seals "Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold)":
8) Garth Brooks and Chris LeDoux "What'cha Gonna Do With A Cowboy":
9) Marty Robbins "El Paso":
10) Marty Robbins "El Paso City":
11) Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys":
12) Toby Keith "Should've Been A Cowboy":
13) Eddy Arnold "Cattle Call":
14) Frankie Laine "Rawhide":
15) Clint Black "A Good Run of Bad Luck":
16) Gogi Grant "The Wayward Wind":
17) Gene Pitney "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance":
