Close Call for the Dodgers!

Hello,

L.A. was able to hold on and win, beating St. Louis 3-2 in Game 2 of their NLDS. Andre Ethier hit a strong line drive at Matt Holliday. Holliday had a tough chance and an unfortunate drop. He should have caught that ball, but it would have been a great catch. Maybe the Dodgers are a team of destiny. LA leads the series 2-0 when they should be tied. Manny continues his uninspiring play, so far he's hitting .125 for the series. Someone please wake up Manny. LA has won 2 games so far, only 9 more victories needed and they are the World Series champs. (A musicaddict can dream, can't he?)

Colorado tied Philly at 1 game a piece in their series as they head back to the Rockies home field. The other LA, the Angels, smacked the Red Sox in the mouth and won that first game 5-0. Game 2 is tonight with playoff stud Josh Beckett pitching for the Red Sox. Beckett is one of the greatest postseason pitchers ever. The Angels have to do what the Dodgers did last night, win and take a 2-0 lead. Both St. Louis and Boston are extremely tough places to play for road teams. Boston lost the first game intentionally to make the playoffs more exciting. Also tonight New York will probably win again to completely take the wind out of the Twins sails.

Yes this is still a music blog. Thanks to ew.com for the following: "Don’t call it a sequel, even though it sounds an awful lot like one: Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber has announced a followup to Phantom of the Opera, his 1986 musical that now stands as the longest-running in Broadway history. He is calling the new show Love Never Dies, refers to it as ”a stand-alone piece,” although it will pick up ten years after the original, with the Phantom having moved to Coney Island. The show will debut in London in March, and reach New York by November 2010. Webber says he wrote the followup because he found the original ending — in which the Phantom’s love, Christine, goes off with “this boring guy” — unsatisfactory". It kind of sounds lame. How old is the Phantom getting anyway by this point. I will definitely check it out when I can. Webber is one of the greatest living song writers. Among many other plays: "Evita", "Phantom of the Opera" and "Jesus Christ Superstar".

The more I think about this, the more bizarre I think it is. I keep on looking at the calender thinking today is April Fool's Day. I know that Webber is a bit eccentric, but the Phantom moves to Coney Island? Really? My suggested title for this farcical sounding play, "Old Man of the Island".

Thanks to youtube.com here's video of the Temple of the Dog reunion.

Congratulations to President Obama for winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

Have a great day, themusicaddict
