USA Women's Soccer, USA Men's Basketball Are Golden

Hello,

Congrats to the USA women for winning the Gold Medal soccer match. They played a rematch against Japan and were able to win 2-1. Carli Lloyd scored both goals for the USA. Hope Solo also made a big save near the end of a match. I don't even want to think what could of happened if either of those players didn't come up with their big moments.

Then the USA Men's basketball team dominated Argentina again today, winning 109-83. They now advance to the Olympics Gold Medal game against Spain. Of all the teams in the Olympics, Spain is the team that scares me the most. The Gold Medal game will be played on Sunday.

Thankfully the biggest whiner in the NBA has finally been traded. Dwight Howard is headed west to the Lakers. While there are many similarities between Howard and Shaquille O'Neal let the comparisons end there. Dwight Howard is all about him and what he wants. I love that he apologized for the last month. No Dwight I think you need to apologize for the last 18 months. That's how long your drama, all about you session has been going on.

But hey it's about to end right? No, his contract ends at the end of next season and he already said he wants to use this season to see if he's comfortable in LA. So really nothing has ended, we are only at halftime of the Dwight Howard whineathon.

I know I have written this before, but I just don't understand why people want Howard. I get that he's a physical freak and should be a dominant player. He usually is when he wants to be. But even when he plays you can see he's all about him. From his highly theatrical dunks to the repeated blocking shots out of bounds, he's focusing on doing what makes him look good. That's when he cares, but sometimes he doesn't care. He then plays lethargic. I also can guarantee the below 50% free throw shooter isn't out practicing free throw shooting now.

Yet another great song by Lady Antebellum, "Just A Kiss":
