On my iTunes playlist there are 23 songs that have 40 listens, that's too many songs for one blog. Thus I've broken it in to two blogs.
All of these blogs are living blogs. That means if my iTunes top songs change, then these blogs change. Both Queensryche's "Another Rainy Night Without You" and AC/DC's "Who Made Who" notched their 41st listen and move into a tie for 57th place.

SSGT Barry Sadler "Ballad of the Green Berets":
George Jones "50,000 Names":
John Michael Montgomery "Letters From Home":
Daryl Worley "I Just Came Back From A War":
Rhyming Bin Laden with forgotten is interesting. Not bad, just interesting. Daryl Worley "Have You Forgotten":
What is Memorial Day about? I think it's about two main things, freedom and loss. Freedom from some of the many things that hold so many other countries back and the loss of the young men and women who have died or suffered loss so that we can enjoy our freedom. I think this song explains both of those concepts very well.
David Ball "Riding With Private Malone":
The Dixie Chicks "Travelin' Soldier":
This song still gives me the chills every time I hear it. Lee Greenwood "God Bless The USA":
All of these blogs are living blogs. That means if my iTunes top songs change, then these blogs change. Both Queensryche's "Another Rainy Night Without You" and AC/DC's "Who Made Who" notched their 41st listen and move into a tie for 57th place.
These blogs are updated to June 12th. "Another Rainy Night" received another listen on my iPod and has moved up to the blog with songs tied for 42 listens.
73) The Zombies "Time Of The Season":
73) Yes "Changes":
73) U2 "Pride (In The Name of Love)":
73) Ancestors "Throw Me The Statue":
73) Taylor Swift "Should've Known Better":
Yes at one time SR-71 was tied for 71st place, got to love randomness. 73) SR-71 "Right Now":
73) One Republic "Apologize":
73) New Found Glory "Summer Fling (Don't Mean A Thing)":
73) Muse "Uprising":
My only excuse is that my daughter went through a very intense two year infatuation with Justin Bieber. 73) Justin Bieber "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town":
I know what you're wondering, why 113 songs? That's because I wanted to countdown 100 songs, however there are 17 songs tied for 97th place. I'm not good at mathing, but even I know that's more than 100 songs. 99% of the time I listen to my iPod on random, which is where most of these listens come from. That explains the random nature of this countdown.
These songs were released from 1965, which is even older than me, to 2014. I do have songs from 2018 on my iPod, but these are the most played songs on my iTunes. Genres included are rap, rock, pop, country, country rock, country pop and alternative (whatever the hell that means anymore).
The musicians go from fairly obscure to some of the biggest musicians ever. Miss Swift has the most songs at 6, Led Zeppelin has 4 songs and Daughtry and U2 have 3 songs. However Madonna and Michael Jackson only have one song and there's no Prince songs at all on this countdown. Anyway all of these songs have 39 listens.
I need a break from some of the best songs played on "Royals", Greatest 80's Era Countdown Blogs and anything else I've been writing lately.
I go through my iTunes and play songs that haven't been played in the longest time. These next 3 songs I love and wanted to hear them more frequently so I added them to my iPod. 1) Abba "Money Money Money":
2) Rush "The Big Money":
3) Doobie Brothers "Rockin' Down The Highway":
Whenever I go see a band in concert, I like to load up my iPod with a lot of their songs. Once the concert is done, I start taking those songs off of my iPod ad I tire of them. This is one of my favorite TMBG songs and I haven't tired of it yet.
4) They Might Be Giants "Don't Let's Start":
Similar to above, Meat Loaf is one of my Top 15 80's era musicians, very soon he'll be profiled on my blog. So when they took most of his amazing songs to Broadway, of course I had to check it out. I put a lot of the songs on my iPod so I can get familiar with them quicker.
5) Original Cast Recording "Bat Out of Hell":
The relatively unknown Kobra and the Lotus are one of my new favorite bands. In 2015 they released an EP, "Words of the Prophets" with some very interesting covers. This is one of those. 6) Kobra and the Lotus "Sign of the Gypsy Queen":
7) Jimmy Eat World "Work":
8) Tesla "Modern Day Cowboy":
9) Brian Fallon "Etta James":
Not one of my favorite songs by Boz, but I have this song on my iPod to get more familiar with some of his more obscure songs. Boz Scaggs 10) "Slow Dancer":
11) The Smiths "Girlfriend In A Coma":
12) Boz Scaggs "Georgia":
13) The Pet Shop Boys "The Pop Kids":
14) Adam Lambert "If I Had You":
I love this rocked out version of this song. 15) Men Without Hats "Pop Goes The World":
I love love love the singer's voice. Bahari "Wild Ones":
"I want it all or not at all". Claire Wyndham "Kingdom Fall":
Vok "Waterfall":
Bad Bad Hats "Psychic Reader":
The Rapture "Pieces of People We Love":
Sleep Machine "Run" is the song from Season 2 of Royals, but I can't find a video available for that yet. To give you an idea of their sound this is Sleep Machine's "Animal High":
I had a very nice unknown commenter compliment one of my blogs about the best songs of Season 1 of "Royals". This is the best songs of "Royals" Season 2. Although I've stopped watching "Royals" I still remember how great of the music from Season 1.
One of the things I love about these songs is that they're still flying under the radar. At most they have a few hundred thousands YouTube views and it's only thanks to "Royals" that I'm even hearing these songs now.
Wolf Alice "You're A Germ":
Von Bonneville "Cards With The Devil":
I Am Harlequin "Something Else":
Lemaitre (featuring Jennie A) "Closer":
This is my least favorite of the three songs I've published so far, but I like this dude's vibe. I can see why he was touring with Ed Sheeran. Saint Raymond "Carry Her Home":
Saint Raymond "Everything She Wants":
As far as I can tell this song wasn't on "Royals", but this is another great song from Saint Raymond.
"I Want You":
Is this where I discovered Kid Karate from, it would make sense as I've been a fan of them about the same time that "Royals" started. This is "Don't Stop":
I liked The Corrs, whatever happened to them? 72) The Corrs "Runaway":
I love, love Prince and still think the day he died was one of the worst things that could happen to music. Having said that this is the first time I've ever heard this song. Another Prince funktastic song, but it wouldn't even make Prince's Top 50 best songs. 67) Prince "I Hate U":
65) Better Than Ezra "Good":
Along with "Who Let The Dogs Out", one of the most pervasive ear worms of all-time.
45) Los Del Rio "Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)":
A song I couldn't place by the title, but quickly remembered once it started. A great song. 40) Everything But The Girl "Missing":
The incredibly beautiful Miss Williams and a great singer to boot. 34) Vanessa Williams "Colors of the Wind":
33) Bush "Comedown":
This was "Bullet's" first week on the countdown, a bullet to the countdown.
28) Smashing Pumpkins "Bullet With Butterfly Wings":
22) Collective Soul "December":
20) TLC "Waterfalls":
17) Blues Travel "Run-Around":
16) All-4-One "I Can Love You Like That":
15) Meat Loaf "I'd Lie For You (And That's The Truth):
New Year's Day "Diary of a Creep" was released in 2018.
"Disgust Me":
"Crawling":
"Don't Speak":
I like this studio version better, it shows more what I'm going for in these chicks that rock blogs:
Their "Malevolence" was released on October 2, 2015.
"Kill Or Be Killed":
"I'm About To Break You":
"Alone":
Garbage's "Strange Little Birds" was released on June 10th, 2016.
"Empty":
"Blackout":
"Magnetized":
I know these blogs are 2015 onwards, but I had to throw an old school Garbage song in here. The old school Garbage is the best Garbage. This is "Androgyny":
This was definitely one of the best CDs of 2016. Rachel Platten's "Wildfire" was released on January 1, 2016.
6) "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want":
5) "Girlfriend In A Coma":
4) "Panic":
3) "Bigmouth Strikes Again":
This is more of what I think of when I think of this song, rather than that tame version above.
One of the most distinctive and noticeable beginning 8 seconds of a song and of course the whole song is just amazing. 2) "How Soon Is Now":
When I think of this song, I just think it's a classic. Although the lyrics are a bit bizarre, well it is a Smiths song, this is just a great, great song. 1) "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out":
I've already written about Johnny Marr and Stephen Morrissey and highlighted some of their best non-Smiths work. However those weren't the only two members of The Smiths obviously. The other two main members were bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce.
Post Smiths Andy Rourke worked with Morrissey as a solo artist. He also worked with Sinead O'Connor and The Pretenders. As for Mike Joyce, he's known more for the lawsuits he filed, and won, than any post-Smiths musical accomplishments. Twenty years after The Smiths broke up both Rourke and Joyce tried to capitalize on the Smiths magic. I couldn't find any sales figures, but my guess is that it wasn't a big seller. They released a DVD titled "Inside The Smiths".
19) "The Boy With A Thorn In His Side":
18) "Shakespeare's Sister":
17) "What Difference Does It Make":
16) "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before":
"I was looking for a job, and then I found a job. And Heaven knows I'm miserable now" is one of the funniest lines in all of music. 15) "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now":
In This Moment released "Ritual" on July 21st, 2017.
"Black Wedding" (featuring New Year's Day Ash Costello):
"Half God, Half Devil":
"River of Fire":
"Roots":
"Witching Hour":
Bad Seed Rising's "Awake In Color" was released in late 2016. After releasing that CD and 3 EPs they have now broken up. That's too bad as they were a good band.
"What Have We Done?":
"I Can Feel You":
"Obvious":
"Fighting Gravity":
"Sleeping In Cars":
Halestorm released "Into The Wild Life" on April 14, 2015. They released "Reanimate 3.0: The Covers EP" on January 6th, 2017.
I love Lizzy's amazing voice here. "I Hate Myself For Loving You":
"Fell On Black Days":
"Into The Wild Life":
"I Am The Fire":
"Amen":
Starting off this video with an actually good drum solo. "Mayhem":
To see the videos for this show, please review my recent Pink concert preview setlist. I've posted some of the highlights below. Shortly after an unnecessary DJ set by KidCutUp, Pink, her band and dancers took the stage. She put on a great show, but it was nowhere close to perfect. Her voice was strong through the night, although she told us the elevation did cause her problems. But I would have never noticed. Pink is in exquisite shape which is the only way she could have got through her 100 aerobic set that is a Pink concert.
However as some of the videos below the sound could be muddy, although the live sound is much better at the actual show. Both "Just Like A Pill" and "Who Knew" were too bass heavy, the bass obliterated the great song that is "Just Like A Pill".
These aren't complaints, just questions. Does Pink's shows really need dancers and all the aerial acrobatics. The acrobatics are cool the first few times and Pink is fearless, I just hope that doesn't catch up with her. However the best aerial acrobatics of the night was during "So What", when she flew far and around into the audience. Everyone was able to see her much closer.
Before the show officially started a speaker rattling version of Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" was played. That was all the opener Pink needed on this night. A couple of moments after that song ended the show began with the dropping of the curtain.
Yes, I would suggest you go check out Pink, if you can catch her live, I would give her concert a solid B grade. I hope to work more on this blog later.
The show started off with a huge chandelier like device coming from the top of the stage, one of the many things that Pink hung on throughout the night. 1) "Get The Party Started":
This is a great song, but even is better live. 2) "Beautiful Trauma":
3) "Just Like A Pill":
4) "Who Knew":
A giant Eminem balloon rapped the rap part, that was a nice touch. Then Pink and her acrobatics kicked the balloon Eminem's butt. 5) "Revenge":
6) "Fun House/ Just A Girl":
7) "Smells Like Teen Spirit":
8) "Secrets":
9) "Try":
A video of Nate Reuss singing on a very old school TV was her partner on this night. 10) "Just Give Me One Reason":
11) "I'm Not Dead":
I keep on forgetting she sings this song and I always wonder who sings it when I hear it. Pink sings it and she does so very ably. This is one of the highlights or her show. 12) "Just Like Fire":
The live version:
"Change Is Possible" video and 13) "What About Us":
