(Started June 30th, 2022) Part 1 of The 102 Best Songs of the 1970s

Hello,

The way I'm doing this is I'm going to post the Top 102 greatest 1970s songs in order of the way I thought of them. Once I hit 102 songs I will go and look at the 102 listed songs and see if there are any other songs that the 101st song might be better than. If so I will replace the previously listed song. That way I can stay at 102 songs and have truly the 102 greatest 1970s songs of all-time. This isn't a ranking by best songs, that's just too much work. As best as I can these are the 102 greatest 1970s songs.

I will also post other great 1970s songs by each band listed if motivated enough. As all of these artists are so much more than one of the 100 greatest songs of the 1970s. Yeah I'm going to try and do all the decades from the 1970s to now, some decades will be harder/easier than others. It's likely not all of these songs will still be around in the final edition of this decade's Top 102 Best Songs.

This might be the toughest decade to come up with only 102 greatest songs, there are just so many great songs.

Is this the greatest Disco song of all-time? If not it's damn close. This song is very worthy of every one of it's over 630,000,000 YouTube views. 1) The Bee Gees "Stayin' Alive":

19.5 million YouTube views. 2) Led Zeppelin "Rock and Roll":

5.5 million YouTube views. 3) Billy Joel "Piano Man":

Now this is more like it, over 109 million YouTube views. But it's still not enough views for one of the greatest songs of all-time. 4) Led Zeppelin "Stairway To Heaven":

15.2 million YouTube views. 5) Carly Simon "Nobody Does It Better":

55.6 million YouTube views. 6) Elton John "Your Song":

9) Fleetwood Mac "The Chain":
10) Queen "The Bohemian Rhapsody":
11) James Taylor "Fire and Rain":
Not even 1.4 million YouTube views? This video is over 6 years old so it should have a lot more views. 12) Don McLean "American Pie":

Slightly over 10 million YouTube views. 13) The Doobie Brothers "What A Fool Believes":

14) Tony Orlando and Dawn "Tie A Yellow Ribbon Around The Old Oak Tree":
Slightly over 1 million YouTube views is all. 15) Edwin Starr "War":

The way I'm doing this is I'm going to post the Top 102 greatest 80s songs in order of the way I thought of them. As best as I can these are the 102 greatest 80s songs.

I may or may not post other great 80s songs by each band listed. All of these artists are so much more than one of the 102 greatest songs of the 80s. Since most of my blogs have 17 songs each I upped this to the 102 Best Songs of the 80s. That would be six blogs with seventeen songs = 102 songs.

That way I can stay at 102 songs and have truly the 102 greatest 1960s songs of all-time. This isn't a ranking in order from #102 to #1, that's just too much work. As best as I can these are the 102 greatest 1960s songs.

(Finished June 26th, 2022) Part 2 of Bands That Should Not Be Forgotten

 Hello,

These are bands of any decade, the key thing being a band that was great but has been consigned to the trash heap of history. One band that I really love is The Knack, known most for "My Sharona". But I have written about them so many times so I'm not going to write about them here.

The third band up is Veruca Salt, yes named after a character from "Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory". They also quote a line from an AC/DC song for their debut CD "American Thighs".

1) "Seether":

2) "All Hail Me":

3) "Spiderman '79":

4) "Forsythia":

5) "Victrola":

6) "Straight":

7) "Awesome":

8) "With David Bowie":

The numero quatro band is the pop friendly MisterWives, they are a New York based band.

1) "Our Own House":

2) "Machine":

3) Covering the Cranberries "Dreams":

4) "Not Your Way":

5) "Coming Up For Air":

(Started June 26th, 2022) Part 1 of Bands That Should Not Be Forgotten

Hello,

These are bands of any decade, the key thing being a band that was great but has been consigned to the trash heap of history. One band that I really love is The Knack, known most for "My Sharona". But I have written about them so many times so I'm not going to write about them here.

First band up is Eisley, who's new song, "Raise Your Glass" isn't available yet on YouTube. Their debut CD, 2005's "Room Noises", was one of the best debuts ever. It featured some of the most pleasant, lovely and enjoyable pop songs of all-time. Sadly they have yet to match that amazing debut.

Only 371,000 YouTube views, that's criminal for such a beautiful song. 1) "Memories":

2) "Telescope Eyes":

3) "Golly Sandra":

4) "Marvelous Things":

5) "Brightly Wound":

6) "One Day I Floated Away":

7) "Trolleywood":

8) "Smarter":

Second band up is Age of Chance, a band I hadn't even heard of until today. But once I saw their name on two different lists of bands that shouldn't have been forgotten I knew I needed to check them out. They do have some cool songs, but I don't know their genre is deep enough to not sound the same after a few songs?

1) "Time's Up (Timeless Mix)":

2) "Don't Get Mad Get Even! (The Beats of New York)":

3) "Who's Afraid of The Big Bad Noise!":

4) "Higher Than Heaven":

5) Playing With Fire":

Yes, a cover of the Trammps classic. 6) "Disco Inferno":

7) "We Got Trouble":

Yes a sorta cover of the Prince classic. 8) "Kiss":

"Take It":

"Crash Conscious":

(Finished June 19th, 2022) Part 2 of The 102 Best Songs of the 2000s

Hello,

The way I'm doing this is I'm going to post the Top 102 greatest 2000s songs in order of the way I thought of them. Once I hit 102 songs I will go and look at the 102 listed songs and see if there are any other songs that the 101st song might be better than. If so I will replace the previously listed song. As best as I can these are the 102 greatest 2000s songs.

As all of these artists are so much more than one of the 102 greatest songs of the 2000s. Yeah I'm going to try and do all the decades from the 1950s to now, some decades will be harder/easier than others. Again not all of these songs will still be around in the final edition of this decade's Top 102 Best Songs. Let's see how these songs compare in terms of YouTube views.

22) Lady A "Need You Now":

Almost 17.5 million YouTube views. 23) Incubus "Nice To Know You":

(Finished June 19th, 2022) Part 12 of Selected Classic Ballads

Hello,

I started watching Amazon Prime's so very good (so far) Season 1 of "Reacher". Check it out. Anyway there's a scene where Reacher was dancing with his potential lady friend, Roscoe (yes, that's her name). Patsy Cline's "Crazy" inspired Roscoe to ask Reacher to dance. They went to the dance floor and that nearly perfect song matched the romantic moment perfectly. I was inspired to work on a series of classic ballads, starting with "Crazy".

186) Amy Grant "That's What Love Is For:

187) Patty Smyth featuring Don Henley "Sometimes Love Ain't Enough":

188) Alabama "Lady Down On Love":

189) Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band "Night Moves":

190) REO Speedwagon "Keep On Loving You":

191) Tiffany "All This Time":

192) Gregory Abbott "Shake You Down":
