(Finished October 12th, 2022) Revisiting Queensryche Classic "Operation: Mindcrime":

Hello,

rollingstone.com is out with their Top 50 Best Concept Albums. I will highlight a few of the best concept albums over the next few months. "Operation: Mindcrime is the third CD by rock band Queensryche. It received some notice when it was released, but received more when the follow up CD "Empire" was released. Both of the "Operation: Mindcrime" CDs are good, but the original is still the best.

Lyrics written by mainly Chris DeGarmo, Geoff Tate, Michael Wilton and expertly sung by Geoff Tate. He has such a great voice and he rocked this CD, singing it with real conviction. The band at the time was Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield, Tate, DeGarmo and Wilton. The story, the lyrics and the musicianship all worked together to make a classic CD.

45 is way too low for this old school rock concept album. However Rolling Stone includes many CDs that I wouldn't consider as "concept" albums.

45) Queensryche "Operation: Mindcrime":

Every song:

1) "I Remember Now":

2) "Anarchy- X":

3) "Revolution Calling":

4) "Operation: Mindcrime":

5) "Speak":

Rolling Stone suggests to skip this song. I completely disagree as this song is central to the entire narrative. 6) "Spreading The Disease":

7) "The Mission":

8) "Suite Sister Mary":

9) "The Needle Lies":

10) "Electric Requiem":

11) "Breaking the Silence":

12) "I Don't Believe In Love":

13) "Waiting for 22":

14) "My Empty Room":

15) "Eyes of A Stranger":
