Loretta Lynn, the Coal Miner's Daughter, died today at the age of 90. Among the many people she worked with over her career included Conway Twitty, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton and many others. She also worked with Jack White on her critically loved CD "Van Lear Rose".
Miss Lynn also recorded several classic albums and songs, including many of those below. She was a woman who didn't just sing love songs. She sang songs about what it was like to be a woman of her times. Her "The Pill" praised the benefits of the birth control song. It was quite controversial for the time. To show how much time has changed, a song about a birth control pill wouldn't even cause a ripple now.
From her song lyrics one can tell that she loved her Daddy quite a bit, well she will now be able to see him again. They certainly don't make country singers as real as Miss Lynn now.
