(Started February 17th, 2023) Part 1 of the Best of Late 70s/80s R&B, Rap, Disco and Reggae

Hello,

I suggest that the late 70s through the end of the 80s was the best era of Rhythm and Blues music. Those amazing songs the Commodores had at the end of the 70s and early 80s were just masterful. They weren't the only ones, don't forget Earth, Wind and Fire, Donna Summer, The Bee Gees and many others.

One of the greatest ballads of all-time. It's too bad he couldn't recapture the magic for one more song. Gregory Abbott "Shake You Down":

Joan Armatrading "Drop The Pilot":

Atlanta Rhythm Section "Imaginary Lover":

Atlanta Rhythm Section "So Into You":

Atlanta Rhythm Section "Spooky":

Thanks to "10 Things I Hate About You" for bringing this amazing song to my attention. Joan would you please rip my heart out with this song? Joan Armatrading "The Weakness In Me":

Atlantic Starr "Always":

Atlantic Starr "Circles":

Atlantic Starr "Secret Lovers":

Patti Austin and James Ingram "Baby Come To Me":

Average White Band "Let's Go Round Again":

Philip Bailey and Phil Collins "Easy Lover":

Anita Baker "Been So Long":

"Caught Up In The Rapture":
"Giving You The Best I Got":
"Mystery":
No One In The World
