(Finished September 18th, 2019) The Best of Female Country Singers in 1971

Hello,

This series of blogs is inspired by Carrie Underwood covering the songs of Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, The Judds, Shania Twain and others. Ironically I'm started in 1970, where the majority of the top songs were sung by men. Even many of the songs sung by women were in a duet- yes with another man. There weren't any duets or trios like Maddie and Tae or Runaway June breaking big then. I tried my best, but some songs were listed in multiple years on various lists I was researching. I apologize for any mistakes, all blame goes to me.

1) Sammi Smith "Help Me Make It Through The Night":

2) Dolly Parton "Coat of Many Colors":

3) Susan Raye "L.A. International Airport":

Yes this song is the very definition of country when this genre was called country and western. 4) Loretta Lynn "You're Lookin' At Country":

5) Lynn Anderson "You're My Man":

6) Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty "Lead Me On":

7) Tammy Wynette "Good Lovin' (Makes It Right)":

8) Dolly Parton "Joshua":

9) Connie Smith "Just One Time":

10) Kitty Wells "Pledging My Love":

11) Jeannie C Riley "Roses and Thorns":

12) Sammi Smith "Then You Walk In":

13) Lynn Anderson "How Can I Love You":
