(Started September 20th, 2019) The Best of Female Country Singers in 1974

Hello,

This series of blogs is inspired by Carrie Underwood covering the songs of Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, The Judds, Shania Twain and others. Ironically I'm started in 1970, where the majority of the top songs were sung by men. Even many of the songs sung by women were in a duet- yes with another man. There weren't any duets or trios like Maddie and Tae or Runaway June breaking big then. I tried my best, but some songs were listed in multiple years on various lists I was researching. I apologize for any mistakes, all blame goes to me.

1) Dolly Parton "Jolene":

2) Olivia Newton-John "If You Love Me, Let Me Know":

3) Anne Murray "He Thinks I Still Care":

4) Olivia Newton-John "I Honestly Love You":

5) Tanya Tucker "The Man That Turned My Mama On":
6) Brenda Lee "Big Four Poster Bed":
7) "Silver Threads/Golden Needle":
8) Crystal Gayle "Wrong Road Again":
9) Tanya Tucker "Would You Lay With Me":
10) What A Man My Man Is":

11) Donna Fargo "You Can't Be A Beacon If You're Light Don't Shine":

12) Dolly Parton "Love Is Like A Butterfly":

13) Loretta Lynn "Hey Loretta":

14) Connie Smith "I Never Knew What That Song Meant Before":

15) Dottie West "Last Time I Saw Him";
