Richard Theodore Otcasek (March 23, 1944 – September 15, 2019), known as Ric Ocasek (/oʊˈkæsɛk/), was an American singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. He was best known as the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and songwriter for the rock band the Cars. In 2018, He was a successful producer, but I'll save that for a different blog. Ocasek was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Cars. He also was known for his marriage to supermodel, and woman way out of his league, Paulina Porzikova. Althought they've been separated for a couple of years now.The Cars had two lead singers, the other being Benjamin Orr, who sadly died October 4th, 2000.
