(Finished and Updated September 22nd, 2019) The Best of Female Country Singers in 1980, Part 1

Hello,

This series of blogs is inspired by Carrie Underwood covering the songs of Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, The Judds, Shania Twain and others. Ironically I'm started in 1970, where the majority of the top songs were sung by men. Even many of the songs sung by women were in a duet- yes with another man. There weren't any duets or trios like Maddie and Tae or Runaway June breaking big then. I tried my best, but some songs were listed in multiple years on various lists I was researching. I apologize for any mistakes, all blame goes to me.

This is one of the songs Carrie sang a portion of in concert. 1) Dolly Parton "9 to 5":

2) Cristy Lane "One Day At A Time":

3) Kenny Rogers and Kim Carnes "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer":

4) Crystal Gayle "If You Ever Change Your Mind":

5) Tanya Tucker "Can I See You Tonight":

6) Crystal Gayle "It's Like We Never Said Goodbye":

7) Dottie West "A Lesson In Leavin'";

8) Debby Boone "Are You On The Road To Lovin' Me Again":

9) Emmylou Harris "Beneath Still Waters":

 This song was rereleased in 1980. 10) Patsy Cline "Always":

11) Barbara Mandrell "Best of Strangers":

12) Crystal Gayle "The Blue Side":
