The Greatness of "Battlestar Galactica" continued

Hello,

Thanks to wikipedia.org, these are the episodes of "BSG" I watched yesterday. The episode's title, date it was originally shown and the number of survivors at the start of the episode.

"Flight of the Phoenix" September 16, 2005 47,853
Galactica's crew fights to contain a Cylon computer virus spreading throughout the ship while Tyrol launches a project to build a new fighter.

"Pegasus" September 23, 2005 49,605
With the arrival of the Battlestar Pegasus, the fleet is exuberant. However, Adama soon worries about Admiral Cain, Pegasus's commanding officer and Adama's superior, in command of the fleet.

"Resurrection Ship (Part 1)" January 6, 2006 49,604
The conflict between Galactica and Pegasus is put on hold with the discovery of a vital Cylon ship.

"Resurrection Ship (Part 2)" January 13, 2006 49,604
The battle to destroy the Resurrection Ship begins as both Adama and Cain make plans to seize complete command of the military.

"Epiphanies" January 20, 2006 49,598
Roslin lies on her deathbed, recalling her last day on Caprica with startling revelations. Meanwhile a group of sympathizers want to make peace with the Cylons.

Should Cylons be capitalized, we don't capitalize human.

Somehow the Battleship Pegasus escaped the Cylon attack on Caprica through a lot of fortuitous timing. Then somehow it caught up with the fleet. I really didn't like how Admiral Cain welcomed the main part of the fleet back to the colonies. Obviously she thought she was in charge already.

Pegasus' XO, Jack Fisk, tells Col. Tigh some of the secrets of Admiral Cain and the way she commands. She has a backbone and has got her people this far. But at what cost as she has used ruthless tactics to get this far. She seems almost cylon like in her decision making, she doesn't seem to consider the human toll in her decisions. She uses almost many Cylon like tactics. (Is she a cylon sleeper agent?) She has shot members of her own crew, had civilians killed and stripped civilian ships of their parts. She left those civilian ships virtually defenseless.

We see yet another copy of Number 6, this one is a prisoner on Battleship Pegasus. She's been savagely beaten and raped while a prisoner. Also nearby there's a large Cylon ship that is a place where damaged cylons can be resurrected. Destroy that ship and these cylons really die and their programs aren't transferred to another body. Obviously it was critical that the colonial fleet destroyed that.

I was a little disappointed by the fortuitous timing of the prisoner copy of Number 6 escaping. She manipulated Gaius into letting her out and then she killed Admiral Cain. I thought that was sort of lazy story telling. But forgivable in a show that gives so many other exciting plot points.

Again another copy of Number 6 shows up. This copy isn't just in Gaius's mind. She's a physical entity and he wants to enjoy that. She shuts him down. Only in the open minded story telling of "BSG" would they have a cylon in charge of a group of humans that want peace with the cylons. She's crusading as a peace advocate and still is manipulating Gaius. Seriously is he not the dumbest smart person ever? At the end of the last episode I saw he gave her a present of a nuclear bomb. What would now the Admiral Adama and President Roslin think of Gaius giving a nuclear bomb to the cylons?

Thankfully President Roslin was able to have an injection of the miracle cylon blood and recover from the cancer. Ironically if Caprica hadn't been destroyed she would have died. Gaius as President would work out as well as when Col. Tigh stepped in for Commander Adama. I can see why the cylons are trying to make him the President. That would be the end of the fleet quickly. Of course, it would also be the end of the series, how will the writers work that out?

Also it seems that Gaius is about to get his comeuppance, President Roslin remembers seeing him kissing Number 6 on Caprica right before the attack. Gaius, who betrayed the humans, actually is benefiting from his betrayal. How long will that last, how long until karma catches up? He's escaped karma even longer than Scam Newton. Are the "BSG" writers just teasing us or will something really come of that?
