The Bad Boy Rock and Roll of AC/DC

Hello,

A band that seems to me that doesn't get the respect they deserve is AC/DC. I'm not specifically talking about their hits, I'm talking about some of their more obscure songs. For instance, I was listening to the "Highway To Hell" CD on my way to work this morning. Basically the only well known song off that CD is the title track.

However there are other good songs on that CD, examples include "Girls Got Rhythm":

One cliche that holds true about AC/DC and many other rockers is that they only sing about one thing. We see that with the above and this song. "Beating Around The Bush":

"Shot Down In Flames":

Another worthy older AC/DC song "Shake Your Foundations":

I also like some of their boogie rock. They have a reputation for all their songs sounding the same. However that's not true. They have the crunch rock of "Back In Black", the almost tender feeling of "Ride On" and the funky underbelly of "She's Got The Jack". Also who doesn't love the cannons of "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)" or the bells of "Hells Bells"? They're also one of the very few older bands who have new music as good as their earlier stuff. Their most recent release, "Black Ice" is 15 slabs of excellent rock music. If you don't agree you need to listen to "Black Ice" again.

"Money Made":

"War Machine":

I'd love to take a ride on the "Rock 'N Roll Train":

Congrats to Dan Uggla, last night he hit in his 30th consecutive game. He's now tied with the Dodgers' Andre Ethier for longest consecutive hit streak this season. (We Dodgers fans have to take the bright spots where we can find them this season. Those bright spots have been hard to find.)

Also the Dallas Cowboys were going to attend Terrelle Pryor's pro day, it has been postponed though. The NFL still needs to make a definitive ruling on whether he's eligible for that or not. I hope this is Dallas finally admitting that Tony Romo isn't a good enough quarterback to be their starter. Not that I think Pryor will be an outstanding pro quarterback, I'm just glad the Cowboys are considering their options.

Then from the are you kidding me file? Rex Grossman, probably the worst quarterback to ever start a Super Bowl, is predicting the Redskins will win the NFC East. Please Rex! Grossman goes on to say, "We're fine being the sleepers right now". Rex you guys aren't sleepers, the Redskins are in a coma! If you or John Beck are the Redskins quarterback you'll be lucky to finish .500. In fact, I predict Washington will be battling Dallas for third place in the NFC East this season. Hey but thanks Rex for the laugh.
