I recently started watching the original "Veronica Mars" series and I've enjoyed the first few episodes. I completely missed it when it was first released and then for the longest time it wasn't available anywhere. On a whim I searched for it and it's on Xfinity's Streampix now, who even knew there was anything worthwhile to watch there? Anyway while this has been a good show, it's also a musical time capsule. It captured many of the songs that were hot at the time and also played songs from many earlier years. I recognized several songs, but thanks to tunefind.com but filling in some of the blanks.
The Dandy Warhols "We Used To Be Friends":
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five "White Lines (Don't Do It)":
Tsar "The Girl Who Wouldn't Die":
Blue Oyster Cult "Don't Fear The Reaper":
Bonus song: my favorite BOC song "Burning For You":
Although FOW have broken up now, there's a chance that there may be a blog exploring their best songs coming up soon. I'm a a big FOW fan. Fountains of Wayne "Troubled Times":
Carlos Santana featuring Everlast "Put Your Lights On":
Damone "Now Is The Time":
The Postal Service "Such Great Heights":
Bonus song: That song reminds me of this song Death Cab For Cutie's "We Looked Like Giants":
The Stills "Still In Love":
America "Ventura Highway":
Spoon "Don't Let It Get":
Social Distortion "Angels Sing":
The Beatles "Birthday":
Blondie "One Way Or Another":
Ozomatli "Saturday Night":
The Police "Don't Stand So Close To Me":
The Fixx "One Thing Leads To Another":
Cyndi Lauper "Time After Time":
