BYU-SDSU, "Glee" Misstep

Hello,

While some people are getting ready for the Super Bowl, I'm getting ready for another game. Tomorrow night is the #4 San Diego State vs. #9 BYU game in Provo, Utah. The game tips off at 10:00 EST. This should be a great battle, two very good teams battling. Go Cougs!

I'm usually a big fan of the songs that have been reworked and performed on "Glee". They usually do a good job. However one song they completely messed up on was Billy Idol's "Dancing With Myself". The "Glee" version is just awful. This is it:

This is Billy Idol's much better version:

To prove once again that there's nothing new in the world, amazon.com is now selling select tracks for only .69c each. Gee where did they get that idea from, that's right from Apple. Nearly 100% of any idea is just a remade or changed from a previous idea, an idea that usually has been around for hundreds of years.

We'll see how this goes, starting today I'm going to have an under appreciated song of the day. Today's song is Echo and the Bunnymen's "Bring On The Dancing Horses". A truly great 80's song. This song is also featured on possibly the second best 80's soundtrack, "Pretty In Pink". ("Purple Rain" is easily the best soundtrack of the 80's)

Here's the song:

Here are the lyrics:

Jimmy Brown
Made of stone
Charlie Clown
No way home
Bring on the dancing horses
Headless and all alone

Shiver and say the words
Of every lie you've heard

First I'm gonna make it
Then I'm gonna break it
Till it falls apart
Hating all the faking
And shaking while I'm breaking

Your brittle heart

Billy stands
All alone
Sinking sand
Skin and bone
Bring on the dancing horses
Wherever they may roam

Shiver and say the words
Of every lie you've heard

First I'm gonna make it
Then I'm gonna break it
Till it falls apart
Hating all the faking
And shaking while I'm breaking
Your brittle heart

Brittle heart
Brittle heart
Brittle heart
And my little heart
Goes

Jimmy Brown
Made of stone
Charlie Clown
No way home

Bring on the headless horses
Wherever they may roam
Shiver and say the words
Of every lie you've heard

First I'm gonna make it
Then I'm gonna break it
Till it falls apart
Hating all the faking
And shaking while you're breaking
My brittle heart
Brittle heart
Brittle heart
And our little heart
Goes

Bring on the new messiah
Wherever he may roam
Bring on the new messiah
Wherever he may roam
Bring on the new messiah
Wherever he may roam
Bring on the new messiah
Wherever he may roam
