(Finished November 26th, 2021) Part 4 of The Best Rock Music of the Late 70's: 1976-1980, Songs 52-68

Hello,

I was watching the first episode of the newly reprised "Freaks and Geeks" on Hulu the other day. It's based in 1980 and has many of the great songs of that time play in the show. The song that really stood out was Styx's "Come Sail Away". It's a song I didn't like much for the longest time but have grown to like over the last few years. But last night it really hit me how great of a song it is. For 1979 we know it was a terrible year for rock music as that year was the peak of disco. But there are still dozens of great rock classics in this five year window. Here's over 140 songs from that era.

Neil Peart was such an amazing drummer, he also wrote most of Rush's songs. Gone too soon. 52) Rush "The Spirit Of Radio":

53) Led Zeppelin "Achilles Last Stand":

54) The Marshall Tucker Band "Heard It In A Love Song":

55) Foreigner "Blue Morning, Blue Day":

56) The Buggles "Video Killed The Radio Star":

57) Billy Joel "Sometimes A Fantasy":

58) Pink Floyd "Young Lust":

59) The Climax Blues Band "Couldn't Get It Right":

60) Kiss "Calling Dr. Love":

61) Cheap Trick "Dream Police":

62) Peter Gabriel "Games Without Frontiers":

63) Paul McCartney "Coming Up":

64) Blondie "Call Me":

65) AC/DC "T.N.T.":

66) The Steve Miller Band "Swingtown":

67) Heart "Straight On":

68) The Eagles "The Long Run":
