themusicaddict's 7 + 1 Least Wanted NBA Players On My Team (Updated 12/28/12)

Hello,

This is my list of the 7 NBA players I least want on my team:

1) Carlos Boozer: Chicago Bulls. The Bulls made one of the worst free agency signings a couple of years ago when they signed Boozer. He's in the third year of a 5 year- $80 million dollar contract. $16 million a year for 14 points, nearly 10 rebounds and no defense? A deal that's good for everybody but the Chicago Bulls. Boozer was able to legally rob the short sighted Bulls. What did the Bulls get? They got an all about himself, no defense playing, ridiculously screaming every time he manages to have a good play. The scream which draws attention to himself, not the team he allegedly represents. He'll eventually be a player that the Bulls use their amnesty on. You'll notice that last night when the Knicks-Bulls game got physical, Boozer didn't want to do anything with that.

A player that has been booed by most of the NBA teams he has played for. He's also had signs held up about him that says Loozer in his home stadium.

2) Andrew "No Knees" Bynum: Philadelphia 76ers In one of the worst trades in NBA history the 76ers absolutely got fleeced when they traded for Bynum. He hasn't played any games so far this season and just barely started on step one of a 6 step rehabilitation process. I'd be surprised if Bynum ever plays a game for the 76ers. This is the last year of his contract and I predict he'll be not playing for another team next year. He'll be paid handsomely to sit on someone else's bench next season.

He's also one of the biggest head cases in the NBA. I don't even thinks he wants to play in the NBA, just doing it because he's paid so well for doing so little. He eventually will retire and then maybe he can be a professional bowler. Allegedly Bynum got injured while bowling. Who gets injured bowling, especially a so-called professional athlete? He's such a waste. I'd be surprised if he's still in the NBA when he's 30.

3) Ron Arrest: LA Lakers The reasons why I'd never want him on my team. 1) He's a thug 2) He can't shoot 3) He's a major head case and 4) He's old. He won't be in the NBA in a couple of years and the NBA will be better off without him.

4) Dwight Howard: LA Lakers A tremendously gifted and athletic player, too bad he has so little heart. Like Bynum, it seems he could care less about playing in the NBA. The best example of his lack of love for the game is his below 50% free throw shooting this season. I love how he acts like this happy go lucky guy. But from him holding the Magic hostage for almost a year, we know that's not the case. Howard's protracted negotiations makes how Carmelo Anthony handled his leaving the Nuggets look very classy. After under performing this season, I expect Howard to milk his free agency for all the publicity he can get. He'll eventually sign with some team who'll be extremely happy to have him. But like the Boozer contract mentioned above, the player will get the better end of the deal by far.

Howard is making $19.5 million, how much will he be making with his next contract? I'm just glad that he won't be eating up my team's salary cap.

Updated: On 12/23 Howard was a virtual no-show in their game against the first place Warriors. He quickly picked up 4 personal fouls and a technical foul and only played a few minutes in the first 3 quarters. He finished with as many rebounds as fouls- 6. He also added 11 points and 3 turnovers. In espn.com's recap of last night's Lakers game, his name isn't even mentioned. As the kids would say: SMH.

On 12/26 Howard was ejected from the game for his flagrant foul on Kenneth Faried. It was a stupid play. I don't think that Howard wanted to hurt him, I just think he didn't want to be in the game anymore. After shooting his free throws better, he only made 4 of 9 against the Nuggets.

5) Amare Stoudemire: New York Knicks. Another player that hasn't played a game the whole season. Stoudemire won't play in the Knicks game tonight, but will accompany the Lakers on their Western road swing. For what he's paid, he brings relatively little to the Knicks. It's no coincidence that the Knicks are playing so well without Stoudemire in the lineup. The next time he plays defense will be the first time. (Thanks to Rick Majerus for one of my favorite quotes of his.) I look forward to him getting back as the Knicks will then go back to their pathetic offense of last season. He has a lot more heart than either Howard or Bynum and I expect him to be playing sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately he hasn't realized that he's no longer a star, he's now just an overpaid role player.

6) Carmelo Anthony: New York Knicks For some reason Anthony is sporting a Hitler like mustache now, it makes him look ridiculous. Also making him looking ridiculous is the clothes he was wearing last night in the post game. It looked like it was a military outfit of some kind, perhaps leftover costumes from "The Dictator" film set? Fittingly enough he looked ridiculous in it especially after shying away from the fracas that broke out in the Bulls-Knicks game. It seemed he was kicked out more for whining about the calls that he wasn't getting as opposed to being overly physical.

Anthony will be the Knick that will be hurt the most by Stoudemire coming back, Anthony will be forced to share the ball more. Although Anthony was ejected from last night's game he still got off 25 shots in 37 minutes.  The man hasn't met a shot he doesn't like or isn't willing to take. While he does have some offensive gifts, he doesn't play a lot of defense.

The Knicks seem to be willing to run their offense through him. It has worked so far, but eventually it will stop working. Once again the Knicks will be exposed in the playoffs for what they really are.

7) DeMarcus Cousins: Sacramento Kings Cousins is an incredibly athletic big man. However as someone that has had things handed to him his whole life, he also is incredibly immature. Since players like Cousins have become so entitled, they don't know how to handle even the smallest amount of adversity. Instead of reacting with humility, they respond with a temper tantrum. They then don't understand why they are finally being held to a certain standard.

Cousins has been suspended indefinitely for behavior in a game last night. Afterwards he was contrite and apologized to his team. Maybe he finally is starting to understand how to truly be a professional player.

8) Pau Gasol: How did I forget about the Big Stiffy? Gasol played a good game against the Nuggets, but he only grabbed 6 rebounds. How does a 7 footer only grab six rebounds? He also had 3 turnovers and 0 fouls. 0 fouls, was he not playing defense against the Nuggets? Also let's not forget all the injuries Gasol is facing as his career is quickly winding down.

I predict none of the above players will ever win a NBA Championship as a main player for their team. Gasol did, but he was carried by Kobe to the titles. (Thanks to espn.com for some of the information mentioned above, specifically Boozer's stats and the latest news about Cousins.)
