MLB Playoff frustrations, iTunes 69c songs worthy of your money

Hello,

The two teams in the MLB playoffs I want to see lose asap are the Phillies and Yankees. I'm tired of seeing both teams in the playoffs every year. Of course both won yesterday. Although I'm tired of the Phillies, congrats to Roy "Doc" Holiday for throwing a no-hitter in the post season. That's extremely impressive and he's an amazing pitcher. He's one of those athletes with a killer instinct, the exact kind of player you want on your team. Holiday also threw a perfect game on May 29th. He, quite simply, is a complete pitcher. Compared to the Yankees, the Phillies payroll is a bargain. Their 2010 team salary is "only" $142,728,379. Their team is just as formable as the Yankees. Obviously they have a better scouting program.

I watched a lot of the Yankees-Twins game, Minnesota (13, 90,309,166) got off to a 3-0 lead. Their pitcher Nelson Liriano was pitching well and I thought the Twins were going to win that game. Then the Yankees, and all their firepower, forged a comeback. For only $206,738,389 you can buy yourself a playoff team. That's one of the things that bothers me the most about the Yankees, is that they have the money to buy themselves championships. To put this in a stark example, Alex Rodriguez makes $33 million dollars a year. The lowest paying team in MLB, the Pittsburgh Pirates, only play $34,933,000 to their entire team. And you wonder why their isn't very much competitive balance in MLB. (Thanks to espn.com for the salary info.)

Atlanta (15, $84,423,666) starts play tonight as they travel to play San Francisco (13, 98,586,333). Go Braves!

It looks like Tampa Bay (19, $72,323,471) is racing to be the first team eliminated from the playoffs. Tampa Bay is also playing at home. After losing yesterday 5-1, they currently are losing 6-0 to the Texas Rangers (26, 55,168,114). That means that Tampa Bay has scored 1 run in 16 innings. Texas is the lowest paying team to make the playoffs, they pay about 30% of the salary that the Yankees pay.

Okay now songs that are worthy of paying 69c for at the iTunes music store.
1) "Right To Be Wrong"- Joss Stone This is a song I had never heard before. However I checked it out and was taken with it.
2) "2 Become 1"- The Spice Girls Yes, I know a very disposable band, but in spite of that this is a great song.
3) "Jerk It Out"- The Ceasers You'll recognize this song once you play about 10 seconds of it. I believe this was the first song that was used in the iPod commercials. A very catchy song.

4) "Fever"- Miss Peggy Lee Just a great, great song. I love her voice on this song.

5) "Hawaii-Five 0"- The Vultures One of the truly great theme songs.
6) "What Hurts The Most"- Rascal Flatts One of the best contemporary country songs.
7) "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk"- Trace Adkins A song about one of men's favorite body parts on a woman. And this is an amazing song.

8) "This Cowboy's Hat"- Chris LeDeoux
9) "Cannonball"- The Breeders
10)"Santa Monica"- Everclear One of the best songs of the 90's, unfortunately Everclear peeked with this song.

11) "Breakfast at Tiffanys"- Deep Blue Something
12) "Mexican Radio"- Wall of Video The video for this song is crazy.

13) "Sea of Love"- The Honedrippers One of the most tender love songs by one of the all-time greatest singers, Robert Plant.
14) "King of Wishful Thinking"- Go West

15) "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)"- The Proclaimers

16 & 17) "Let's Get Retarded" and "Shut Up"- Black Eyed Peas One of the very few hip-hop bands who actually have several good songs.

18) "Can't Be Tamed"- Miley Cyrus (Yes that Miley Cyrus). She's really matured on this CD, this is one of many great songs off of that CD.
19) "Stacy's Mom"- Fountains of Wayne

20) "Are You Gonna Be My Girl"- Jet Their first CD, which this song is off, is a truly great CD. One of the most unappreciated CD's of the last several years.
21) "Higher Ground"- Red Hot Chili Peppers

22) "Straight Up"- Paula Abdul In spite of how stupid she appeared on "American Idol", she had an amazing run of great songs.
23) "Hungry Like The Wolf"- Duran Duran I think I saw this video on MTV about a million times.

24) "Words"- Missing Person A grossly unrecognized, should be classic song of the 80's.
25) "We Belong"- Pat Benatar This is one of my favorite Pat Benatar songs.

26) "West End Girls"- Pet Shop Boys A deserved 80's classic.
27) "We Don't Need Another Hero"- Tina Turner
