"27 Dresses", Top 50 continued

Hello,

Last night I watched the very charming "27 Dresses". It took me awhile to understand Katherine Heigl's popularity but I get it now. Of course it didn't help that she was on that stupid "Grey's Anatomy". But a few months ago I saw her in "Killers" with Ashton Kutcher and I thought both were good in that. Due to her attractiveness, her slightly offbeat presence and other attributes she can make a marginal screenplay a lot better. And let's be honest all of her movies so far have had marginal screenplays. I'd love to see what she could do in a movie that's well written.

More of the Top 50:

29) Bob Marley, he's down 21 notches on this list and I have 52 of his songs on my iTunes. One of the artists on this list that died much too young. Bob Marley died at the age of 36 on May 11th, 1981. I was only 14 when he died and I never had a chance to see him in concert. I saw part of one of his concerts on TV. Of course not being there takes away a lot from the experience, but still his performance was a bit disappointing. I know that Bob Marley is relatively popular, but I'm not sure why he isn't more popular.

I'll start off this part of my blog with my favorite Bob Marley song, "Iron Lion Zion":

The following is a collection of his songs. First of all I find it hilarious that this video was sponsored by Trojan. The man who had who knows how many kids by how many women probably should have used a Trojan more. This video also shows what I mean about his live performance being a bit lackluster. He's got that great band, back up singers and Marley himself is very charismatic, but as a unit they just never let go.

"Buffalo Soldier":

This is the song Sinead O'Connor sang on Saturday Night Live before she ripped up a picture of the Pope. Again his live version could have a bit more emotion/pizazz. I love this song, "War/No More Trouble":

28) Muddy Waters: he's down 18 notches from my first Top 50. I have 37 of his songs on my iTunes. Muddy Waters was born McKinley Morganfield (April 4, 1913 – April 30, 1983)

"Baby Please Don't Go":

"Got My Mojo Working":

"Hoochie Coochie Man":

"Mannish Boy"

This is a friend's book, "Wilderness" he's drawing attention to the book he has written. Check it out on facebook. Here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=304984697029 He describes the book as: "I've written a novel called “Wilderness” which I'm sending out to agents (think "Calvin and Hobbes" written by Neil Gaiman)" He also says "one who friends the group will not get any messages from me, they will just be helping a young aspiring novelist." I think that's a worthy cause.
