Hello,
The #8 all-time American Idol is the lovely Miss Haley Reinhart.
Haley Reinhart finished in third place on Season 10 of "American Idol". Somehow she was edged out by Scotty McDreary and the too young Lauren Alaina. I like Lauren's voice, but I wished she would have waited a couple more years to compete. Although I quite like her song "Like My Mother Does":
This definitely isn't the passing of the torch. Carrie sings that song with a better voice and it's clear she has lived it. While Lauren sings the song well, she's just way too young:
Season 10 is also known for having some of the most annoying personalities ever on "American Idol". Besides Steven "Dbag" Tyler, J Lo and the completely worthless, but somehow still employed, Randy Jackson. Not to mention that season we had to endure the talentless Jacob Lusk, James Durbin and Paul McDonald. Somehow those three finished ahead of Pia Toscano, a gorgeous and strong voiced singer. Everyone that finished behind Toscano are completely forgettable.
How did Jacob Lusk even make it to Hollywood, let alone finish so high? What does that tell you how lacking the talent was for that season. Although I'm sure "AI" said that season was the "most talent ever".
Was Toscano too gorgeous? Did she sing too well? She sang too many ballad like songs, she should have mixed in more upbeat songs earlier in the show. But with a heavily female audience voting for the boys, she never really had a chance. Here are some of her better performances.

It was also the first season for a minimum age of 15 and the talent that year was still less than previous years. Also the first 5 people eliminated were women.
Sadly in late November, 2012 the news broke that Haley and her record company, Interscope, have parted ways. Her debut CD "Listen Up" only has sold about 60,000 copies by late November. That's about the same amount of CDs that Taylor Swift sells every day. "Listen Up" is a great CD. The lack of sales reflects more on Interscope marketing than Reinhart's talent. For some reason this seems to be similar to the "Nashville" plot line about Rayna battling her corporate America record company.
Check out "Listen Up" and I'm hoping that Reinhart can bounce back from this. From all the terrible and boring musicians that have come from "AI" over the years, Reinhart is one of the few diamonds.
Some highlights for Haley Reinhart on "American Idol":
"Piece of Me"
"Call Me":
"Rolling In The Deep":
Robert Plant and Jimmy Page contacted Idol producers and offered Reinhart the opportunity to sing a Led Zeppelin song for Top 3 week.[25]
(25) According to Led Zeppelin.org:
Led Zeppelin will reportedly be heard on American Idol as one of the choices for the show Wednesday night. The parents of Haley Reinhart were at the Monday council meeting of the Village of Wheeling, Illinois and gave some suprise details of the Led Zeppelin song to be used on Wednesday night’s Idol performances.
According to Haley’s parents, the group members Jimmy Page and Robert Plant reached out to the American Idol executives and gave permission for the Idol hopeful to use any of their singles for a performance.
“Jimmy Page and Robert Plant has never given any permission to use a Led Zeppelin songs to Idol. When they heard Haley do ‘House of Rising Sun’ they contacted Idol and said if she wants to do one of our songs she can,” explained Haley’s mom to the city council. “When you get that kind of offer you do it.”
According to Haley Reinhart’s parents the three songs the Idol contestant will be singing are “Rhiannon” by Fleetwood Mac, “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette and “What Should Never Be” by Led Zeppelin.
American Idol Top 3 performances start tonight at 8pm on FOX with Haley Reinhart, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina vying for the top prize of being the next American Idol.
"What Is And What Should Never Be":
As I'm a humongous fan, I think that's quite a compliment to Miss Reinhart. She did a good version of that song.
