Lakers Fall Apart At Home & Dwight Howard Is Overrated!

Hello,

The presumed NBA Finals participants Lakers stumbled in their first regular season game last night. They lost to the undermanned Mavericks 99-91. They lost all 8 of their pre-season games, not that those games mean anything, the Lakers are now 0-9 in 2012-2013. I don't think this string of losses will last and I still expect the Lakers to have a good season. But LA losing to the Dirk Nowitski-less Mavericks makes me laugh.

Who's the most hated team in the NBA, is it the Knicks or the Lakers? Any team that has Carmelo "No Defense" and Amare "Always Injured" Stoudemire is hard to like. But in being most hated I'd have to give the edge to the Lakers. They have Kobe "Well Why Can't I Shoot Everytime" Bryant, Ron "The Felon" Artest and Pau "Softy" Gasol. But to truly put them over the top they also have the most obnoxious player in the NBA, Dwight Howard.

Howard loves to whine about where he's playing and he's the same player who quit on the Magic last season. He's one of those players that only cares about himself. If he cares about his team then why isn't he a better foul shooter? Also why did he hold the Magic hostage for so long? Why did the Magic put up with it? Anyway last night Howard made his Lakers debut and had a Tony Romo game. That is if you look at his numbers, he had a decent game. But if you saw the game, you realized how mediocre he played.

The Good: He made 8 of 12 shots and had 10 rebounds. The Bad: Howard missed his first shot, a two handed dunk attempt. The Ugly: Howard was an atrocious 3 of 14 from the line, after one game he's shooting 21% from the free throw line. Dallas also employed the Hack-A-Howard strategy rather than let him have easy baskets. He also fouled out, which included the petulant Howard having a flagrant foul called on him. The Lakers were also out scored by 13 points when Howard was on the floor.  Howard also exploded for 1 block, the same amount of blocks that Steve Nash had. That's not very good production for someone making $19.5 million this year.

What's the over/under on Dwight Howard complaining about the next place he wants to play. I give Howard 10 more games before he starts whining about the next team he plays for.

I'll be cheering for the Trailblazers to beat the Lakers tonight, at the same time as I'm cheering for the Jazz. Utah Jazz could you dispatch of the Mavericks and have the game in hand by 9:15? I do have "Nashville" to watch tonight.
